| interesting thought that happened while showering i wasn't sure where to put this, so i chose this forum, it seemed most suited...
this might be hard to explain but here we go:
ok i was thinking about plots and stories of movies and just stories in general and noticed a common thread in lots of movies that are generally accepted as really good:
bad guys have huge intricate plan to take over the world or otherwise bring about evil things that covers like every possibility and loophole that could possible mess it up.
story seems hopeless for the underdog protagonist who is desparately trying to defeat the bad guys.
through amazing personal feats and/or insane loopholing, protagonist manages to foil the bad guy's plan.
everyone's happy.
so then the thought occured to me, this plot sounds very familiar, only the thing it resembles is the opposite way:
God has huge intricate plan to save the humanity.
things look hopeless for Satan, the underdog.
Satan is trying to foil God's plan through any means he can possible come up with.
and it occured to me that perhaps that extremely common plotline is in fact a perversion of reality made up by satan.
think of this, everyone seems favors the underdog.
just something to ponder
(mods feel free to move this if there is a more suitable place for it) |

everyone's happy. | Those movies are usually the worst. I find that cliched plot pattern to be terribly boring.

Dittos. Sometimes a hero has to die to bring a point across i.e. Gladiator and Braveheart.

| Maybe:
Satan has intricate plans to control the Earth and actually throws it into a depraved sin world and he is given power over it. This situation seems full of detail and loophole-less. And the underdog humans are most absolutely no match for big devil dude in control. Then a hero arises and He is sent from the One Big Force that is vague throughout the movie cuz hollywood doesn't want to step on toes, but He comes and finds a little loophole and saves the world...
eveyone's happy.
gosh, just read the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.
