C.H. Spurgeon

I've heard and read a lot about C.H. Spurgeon while hearing and reading about Reformed Baptist-ism (how exactly is that said?). How exactly is he involved with the whole Reformed Baptist denomination? Is he kind of like a leader of that particular denomination (this is far-fetched, maybe, but sort of a Pope-type figure) or is he merely a "great leader" (as some would say C.S. Lewis is, or one like him)? Just curious.

CH Spurgeon was a great baptist preacher and theologian of the 19th century. His sermons and teachings are still used for study by baptist preachers, teachers and theologians today.
