Maybe I should just begin hitting myself in the head with a nerf bat! I think I threw mine in the trash a long time ago.

But I do have a very rare BBE Stinger. It's a footpedal Sonic Maximizer that I think was in production for a very short time. It's quite old, it's not like those new Sonic Maximizer pedals they have out now. I paid $20 at a pawn shop and I seen one go for $100 off ebay.

I still interested in knowing mathematically where that strong octave up harmonic is coming from. In the analog world, an octave up is produced by rectifying the signal. A fullwave recitfier effectively doubles the fundamental frequency and adds a whole slew of other nasty harmonics on top of it, but the fundamental frequency is pretty much demolished. So I don't know if the harmonic comes from the distortion (must bit-crusher plugins i've looked at actually have a clipping algorithm too), the down sampling, or the sample bit reduction.

I wish I had time to investigate this quantitatively...

Sounds like a very Marilyn Manson-ish effect.

I like it!
