Photoshop my dear friend. Photoshop. It's a beautiful thing.
| I have photoshop, but Ive never taken the time to learn how to use it... I should do that sometime. Quote:
Yeah I've been trying to figure out if I like that or not. I think if it were a different material it would look fine in the foreground. (wasn't too thrilled with the whole quilt thing anyway.)
I appreciate it.
| I think it looks better when its cropped in the middle of the second row of squares from the bottom of her dress. |

Other than that its rather nice. | That is more or less exactly what I was going to day.
I would personally like to see the whole dress. i dont' really like how it was cut off.
Beautiful picture, though. |

I don't know, but weddings being the happy occasions that they are, you kinda expect it to not be so dark. Yet, maybe that's another reason to keep it darker. It's a nice contrast with that really white dress and it balances it a bit. The quilt.... meh. Not sure how it works with the pic. Maybe a little too strong in the reds with that top left square. Think about cropping the bottom just a little, but not too much. It's better that she's not in the complete center of the picture, and obviously, cropping the bottom will start to bring her to the center of the frame, so don't crop too much. I guess I just wish it weren't a quilt. Some other material would have worked better I think.
But, as for positives, the things I particularly like are the contrast, her pose with the turned shoulders, the blue in her eyes (I'm assuming these must stand out even more in a full sized image. Did you do anything in PS to bring them out? Or is that all natural?), and the overall composition is just great. It's balanced very well without it coming off as symetrical and boring, and I think the lighting actually helps that point. And, like in my image, a pretty woman definitly doesn't hurt the image . Add her being in a wedding dress.... well, you get the idea. |

I didn't do anything to intentionally bring out the eyes. I just made some normal adjustments with levels and contrast. Then I vignetted.
Here's the original:

| Personally, i think she looks a little orangie in the second one. Like she had a bad run-in with a self-tanner or spray tan.

| I like that shot. Her pose is great.
I'll agree with Smile and Follow though that her arm does kind of disappear in the dark.
Also, I like the quilt in the original much better than in second version. |

| Dear Brandon,
I disagree with most. I definitely like the color much better in the newer version. I agree with Joel that the arm could be lightened, but that it a small detail. It does not look bad as it is. The only thing I really noticed, and did not like was how much of the quilt there was. I would just crop it along the middle of the second row. But that is just my opinion. <3

| Well....I just got wireless on my old laptop....hoo-freakin-ray
but something i noticed and should've taken into account before...is that everyones monitors have different color calibrations. I agree that my photo looked a little orangish when viewing on the other computer, but on this one is looks good.
So...I think this whole judgement of color thing is going to be difficult for all of us.
That's not to say that you still can't tell when something is too saturated.
I don't know....just throwing the thought out there.

Chelsea | Lovely critique indeed.
I would crop it, but that would mess up the composition and cut off more of her dress as Jon already said.
I think the only thing would be to vignette it more....though I don't know if I want to do that.
So....anyone have anymore photos?
