the second picture is definitely my favorite. I love shots where the sun is caught on the horizon, and the coloring of the water with the greys and reds is simply amazing.

here's some recient pics of my cats taken with a pentax k1000 35mm with an SMC pentax 1:2 50mm lens. images are scanned from prints.

this is ginger... she's crazy. This was a one second exposure because it was so dark and a flash would freak her out. It's the only pic of her that came out with no movement.

muffy was crushed under our garage door and stuck for an hour and a half the day before this shoot... That will explain the really pissed off look she has.

Those are some nice pictures, zekthedeadcow, but the background and foreground colors are too similar, so it's hard to see detail.

You could fly to France for that price.

By the way, does anyone know where to buy such programs at a discounted price?
Lord Pyro's Burned CD Emporium. Seriously, though, you might be able to pick up a used copy at a computer store fairly cheap. Check out second-hand stores too. The Salvation Army gets stuff in every so often that's a real bargain.

Xkcer Man: yeah, I wasn't really even thinking about it when I took the pictures, but I do sort of like how they match their surroundings... makes them look more like theiy're part of their enviroment. Ginger is a master if "the art of not being seen" I've found that she will move glass doors to reflect in a way that she will be invisible to the other cat.

Here's some BW pics I just got back... this was the first roll of anything I shot for quite a while. unforunatly macro shots were handheld (done with bellows) and I really think they prints were wayyy too grainy so I'll have to shoot another roll to see if it was me or look for a different film. Some prints looked nice but didn't scan very well so I didn't include them.

muffy, before the garage door accident.

the shots of bees werre really dissapointing as far as sharpness... now I have to wait till next fall to do it again. on this one the grainy/blurryness is acceptable if the pic stays small. It was handheld.

masterpiece I call... "wood" macro handheld is hard...

I'm sure that there's some kind of story behind this mast, but I don't know what it is.

*ATTENTION*

I think it's in order to add one more thing to the rules in order to make this thread easier to interact with.

Do not post more than 2 photos at a time, and in doing so do not post anymore than that until your photos have been discussed.

It's been getting overwhelming trying to get to all of these photos. The nature of critiques are usually long and thorough, so that makes it very laborious when trying to get to massive amounts of photos.

If I may request - I'd ask that a MOD delete any photo that goes over this limit.

Also...if you're going to post your personal work for critique be sure that you do some critiquing as well.

Game on...

I'm thinking it's film. At least thats what the grain looks like to me. And I don't think the person used flash - unless they set up a unit to the left of the photographer.

There's typically more than enough light that close to the stage at any concert the size of what Third Day plays now. But since it was a Third Day show, the production probably had twice as much light as you'd absolutely have to have for good photos. Very good shows to photograph from close range.
