| All For God's Glory "All For God's Glory"
By: Zach Wood
1 Corinthians 10:31
So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
This is a verse I've been struggling with a lot lately. Paul is telling us that, no matter what we do, each moment of everyday should be lived for God's glory. Wherever we are, whatever we are doing. I cringe when I think of my life everyday because I know there are so many moments when I don't have the most loving thoughts toward other people. I know that my attitude isn't always reflective of Christ. I find myself complaining more than I want to admit. I am very disappointed in myself because I know I need to be doing so much better and living such a better life. Lately, I've found myself being rather critical of some people around me. However, I should be pointing the finger right back at myself and seeing the changes that I need to be making.
I don't think we really comprehend what Paul is saying here. He is saying "ALL" should be done for the glory of God! What does that mean? Everything we do. Everything we say. Every place we go. Everyone we see. Our whole lives should be consumed with giving glory to God in whatever way, shape or form. Plain and simple, our lives should be constant 24/7 worship! As many of you probably know, I have a heart for worship music and leading. I've loved music all of my life, but in the last few years, worship/music ministry has been an area of my life that has really grown in desire. The more I've studied the art of worship ministry, the more I've come to learn and realize that worship is a lifestyle. We should all be worshipping everyday, all day. No matter where we are, what we are doing or who we are around, we should be worshipping God Almighty with our lifestyle. It is so imperative for a healthy life of living and witnessing!
My challenge for all of us this week is that we take some deep thought and prayer into what we need to change about our lives so that they can be full living examples of worship toward God. People in the world need to see and hear our lifestyle of worship to God. Everything should be done for His glory, NOT ours. Period.
I pray that all of us desire a daily lifestyle of worship doing everything for God's glory. |
