^ But Audioslave is still alive and kickin'. Morello does the toggle technique in "Gasoline".

The most unusual trick I've ever seen, and one that I don't often see, is to learn how to play clean.

So few guitarists are doing it these days.
It usually gets lost in the mix behind my leader's acoustic and the sound guy tell me to dirty up my tone.

A touch of compression added to a clean electric guitar can take you a long way.

Indeed, but, not only that, that wasn't what I meant when I said "clean", even tho it all applies.

Clean also means "clean technique".

Well, clean technique is OK, but then you listen to a guy like Nigel Pulsford of Bush. That guy sounds like he's stabbing his guitar. It just sounds great.

Or even Johnny Greenwood of Radiohead, same idea. Wailing, jangly brit tone.
