I do think that The Great Depression is a combination of A Thought Crushed My Mind and About a Burning Fire. The song Yamkela sounds like it was right off ATCMM. I really like the direction they're headed in. |

Blindside newsletter May 2007
1. New Merchandise
Well in addition to the amazing new ORGANIC T's we have a new Anchor Design just hitting the shelves of the online store. The new design is direct from the hand of one Christian Lindskog and features the Wasa Recordings Anchor.
We will soon share with you some news that will help explain why the Anchor has been pulled up and reappears in the merch line. But for now we will say it has always been a popular design item for us and we think this new shirt and Hoodie look great. The T shirt is printed on the Cygnus T we have been using for the last few years. Slim fit without being small, light without being lightweight.
For the first time in many years we have printed a white T just in time for the long hot days of summer. The hoodie is the new lightweight slim fit APX from independent trading company. This is a slightly lighter weight perfect for the spring season. Independent just make the best hoodies we have ever worn and this will rapidly become a Blindside classic.
UNDER $10 Sale
We have also reduced the price on a lot of our smaller items. And now have 15 items available for under $10. The button set is now only $2, the Great Depression Poster has been reduced to $5, and the Baby T's are now only $8.98. Quantities are limited on these items and when they are gone they are gone for good. We also found a limited number of the silk screen Black Friday tour posters. These were designed by the legendary (Grammy nominated) Asteriks Design Studio, we are blasting these out the door at only $3.
We also have a limited quantity of the classic "Silence" Cd. Which is available in a special 2 pack with The Great Depression for only $15.98 as well as indiviaully for under 10 bucks
2. Australia
We're back home after a trip that actually took us a lap around the world. We flew a good 30 hours or so via Bangkok, Thailand to get to the destination of our first ever show in Australia.
The people that greeted us made us feel right at home and with 6 months of winter back in Sweden it felt pretty sweet to get in the water at Surfers Paradise Beach on the Gold Coast, a few blocks from where we had a our first show at the Coolangatta Hotel. It became obvious to us that most of the people in the crowd had been waiting for quite a while since they knew the lyrics to every tune and called for songs from the first and second album.
Since we've been hard at work with writing new material and have more upcoming tours we decided to book this tour with as little time off as possible so we could get back to work. Once we were down there we wish that we'd had more time to spend. The three days we had in Sydney were great and we got to hang out with the Koalas and Kangaroos as well as surfing in Manly Beach.
Last show in Melbourne made us realize this tour was way to short and we're already looking at possibilities to come back, next time we'll try to include more cities as well. Props to the people flying over from the west coast. Before we flew over the good old USA aiming for Sweden we stopped in Auckland, New Zealand for one show. This was an incredible and very hot evening that we'll have in our hearts for a long time. The love was thick in that small room. All in all we had a great experience, so thanks to everyone that made it possible to come down. We'll be back soon.
Tour Dates
We're heading out to tour Europe. Some more shows with Linkin Park were added. The show at Smålands Nation is cancelled due to this.
May 30 - Paris, France - Bercy Arena
Jun 11 - Zürich, Switzerland - Hallenstation
Jun 12 - Prague, Czeck Republic - Sazka Arena
and update from there blog
