New Zealand Elections

Hey neighbours.

It is election day for you guys tommorow! Hope voting goes well.

Apparently it is going to be really close.

Good to see some of the campaigning has focused on us (cant you guys do anything without talking about Australia )

So how are you guys going to vote (if you want to share that is)?

Of course I have always thought that if John Howard and Helen Clarke had a child it would be one of the ugliest persons ever!

I voted United Future, but they didn't make the 5% threshhold.
Labour won, 40.something%, National got 39.something% I'm glad Labour beat National, but it looks like the Greens will be in with Labour, as Labour needs a coalition partner. The Greens are hippies, basically
Anyway, Labour = good for me (no interest on Student Loans).

You're kidding right? This country needs a male in parliment! She's a total feminist and has no morals!

Labour as won the general votes but there are still 200 000 + special votes to count.. thats including mine of which my party vote went to National.

No one wants to be in coalition with the greens which means Labour has hopes in hell so National has a better chance because the only group he won't go with is the maori party.

The elections are over, Brash lost a seat with the special votes, and has conceded.

Surely we'd have a government?
NOPE!
Not yet. We are still only with an interim government at the present stage. No solid deals have been made yet, so far as I know, but there have been talks. It most likely will be a Labour govt. with Greens as coalition partners. Good news for students, bad news for business.
