You suck.

I wish someone had told me that ten years ago. I would probably be about $2000 richer than what I am right now because of all the money I've wasted on crap like that.

But I ask you... what about the ones that tell you to send them three UPC codes along with the ticket? Do they send you extra UPC codes too??

Easy. Those aren't no purchase necessary, because they aren't contests.

The reason companies do no purchase necessary contests is because if purchase is required, they have to pay a hefty tax on every item sold during the contest, that is related to the contest. So they are smart and swallow the cost of sending the five playing pieces that are requested by people who are too cheap to buy the box.

You say 'too cheap'. I say 'expense challenged'. There, isn't that a little nicer?

My friend Mr. Box Cutter (which is quite an apt name, since he actually IS a box cutter) goes with me to the store to claim UPC codes, and they are free, so long as no one sees that you are liberating them from the sides of the boxes. therefore we see that often times there is no purchase necessary because theft is an option.*
