We're alive!
This has been our first chance to get online since the storm hit. We still don't have power at our house, but our local internet cafe is open, so we can mooch off them. Actually, I was picking up an unsecured wireless network at home, but I couldn't plug my computer in, and I was running low on power.

We hurricanes often, but one like this are maybe every 40 years.

Ones this strong hit about every 40 years, but the smallers hit us almost annually. The difference between 100 and 150 in wind speed is greater than you'd think, though. A hundred mph and under isn't much to worry about, but over that, you've got problems. Most of the time we get between 70-100 when they hit.

MREs are better than you'd think!

As you can see, we've made progess on that tree on the side of the house; Nate did a lot of it with a hand saw... crazy!
