The name really doesn't matter all that much, but lots of people end up with good names by using names of albums that people like, such as Aqualung. You could also add some comedy or irony into that as well. There is an awesome band called Acoustic Ladyland, after Electric Ladyland by Hendrix.
On this advise, something like:
Glo (Delirious album). I guess you could do something with that as well.
Sheep song (after swan song, but more biblical animal to be!)
Bible characters can be cool as well, as long as you don't call yourselves Dorcas.
Eg: good band who are friends of mine called Jonah.
Of course, musical styles count for something as well. Try 'something' of 'something' if you're an emo/extremo/hemo/whatever band. Indie/rock bands generally are the something.
Lots of choices. Names never really matter all that much though. Don't worry dude. |

| my band's name is "The Alternatives". Does that sound stupid? We wanna change it but we can't think of anything. We play screamo/hardcore(people say we sound alot like Blindside) so if anyone has any suggestions, that would be great. |

| Bandnames aren't exactly ever designed to be anything other than a way to collectively be called. They don't really matter that much and secular or christian, there are some terrible names out there.
I do respect christian artists that speak of God even in their collective name, but there is truth in SystemOfAJon's post. Maybe not badwords suckage, but still pretty shocking.
How about a challenge to come up with the worst bandnames we can find, and state whether christian or secular. I'd start, but I think some kind of ground rules need to be layed down. No personal jibes on peoples bandnames. No 'just because its stupid' bandnames. Reasons people. Any more you can think of?
Or not. I'm not fussed. |
