Thoughts at 3:20 AM.

My dream band would consist of members that made music together because they loved making music together. I think that's the most important thing a band can have. You can hate each other's guts and be an egotistical butthead, but at the end of the day, you still love making music together, and thats why no matter how much you want to stab your lead singer, the band never breaks up. I mean, hopefully, most of us would be in a more ideal situation, where everyone gets along really well and loves playing together. That would seriously be the band I want to be in.

I am going to be the band leader of my next band. Its my project. I'm choosing the musicians I want to write with on this. Those that feel drawn to lead bands should start their own bands and retain final say on things. Those that don't want to do that and just play should be the ones looking for bands to join.

I feel that if I post on craigslist saying that I'm looking for musicians to start a new band and say what I need, then established bands shouldn't contact me wanting me to join them. I said I want to start a new band. And that's how I'm doing it from now on. Yeah. I will have the band I want to be in. Every musician should be with a band they love playing music with. Its important.

Well, if I become part of your dream band, I hope you don't stab me.

That's cool your pressing on starting a new band. I wish you the best of luck, since your last endeavor with Max Rebo.

I still have to work on starting/joining a band myself.

Dude, seriously a duh moment. If you dont' like the music the band is playing, then why be in it? I've never understood the point of playing music you yourself would not listen to.

The money.

No, seriously, I've made a lot of cash playing music I wouldn't have otherwise listened to... however, short term gigs for the most part. Plus I usually add in my personal flavor...

4 weeks of playing nothing but the hits from High School Musical can begin to permeate your soul, though, I'll have you know (but the pay is amazing).

I'm obviously talking about being a long term member. I totally get short term gigs and studio sessions, I'd do stuff like that for money, however, I wouldn't be in a band as a full member unless it's music I liked.

Well Ax, you know I'm not in a band right now. I'm in between them. When I start one again its going to be my music.

I do studio stuff and show fill-ins sometimes. I just don't want to stick with a band that isn't my own music.

Some music is also more fun to play than to listen to. Free jazz for example...

I'm leaving for vacation with my family from 08/08 to 08/15. We're going somewhere in the Blue Ridge Mountains. I haven't packed yet. I need to do that. Yep.

This means I have to find my iPod, iPod charger, iPod cable, Game Boy, Game Boy games, and other long car trip survival necessities to keep my sanity. I actually really hate long car trips. A lot. Its the lack of space.

Yep.

Since I still haven't unpacked from moving, EVERYTHING is still hella disorganized and in random boxes. I can't find anything I'm looking for. I think I'm going to have to UNpack before I can pack, and that is making me very, very angry because I am very, very running out of time.

So you're only coming to Georgia. I was hoping you'd make it up to at least Tennessee or Virginia. Oh well, there's always next time. Of course, you could always hit the Blue Ridge Parkway and keep on trucking until you get up here.
