| WalMart can take you home by force http://www.cnn.com/2005/LAW/06/23/sc....ap/index.html
In short, in a 5-4 vote, the Supreme court just ruled that the government may take your propery under eminant domain in order to give it to private companies.
But don't worry, I'm sure there's no way that WalMart can buy your mayor [/sarcasam] |

| I can't believe this decision.
So if I'm a rich developer I don't have to search for available land to build. I have prime pickings anywhere I want, just have to payoff a few officials to get it.
And of course in the long run this better for the local people, they just don't realize it.

| I live in an area with large developers already way out of control--the mayor and district representative of my town were put into office by making deals with the developers. This is a frightening ruling--grouping corporate America in with "public needs" such as roads, railways, military installations, etc is not the move of a country that prides itself on individual rights. I still am shocked that this ruling came down.

| Proof #120384575929 that no human government, whether it's run by liberals or conservatives, will champion your rights forever. There are never political solutions to spiritual problems, and the cause of this problem is the sinfulness of those running Wal-Mart and the Supreme Court.
Look at it another way: If there were no sin, any and all governments would work perfectly. A sinless dictator would only dictate that which would be mutually beneficial to all, and all would follow them. A sinless democracy would only legislate according to the true needs and desires of the nation. A sinless communism would see an oligarchy which perfectly provided for its proletariat. Sinless anarchy would allow the sinless members of the society to live out their lives in undisturbed harmony with one another.
Of course, there are no sinless communities.

| You guys should watch this movie. It is about the same sort of thing in Australia (of course it is fiction but it is funny and it is very very loosely based on a similar case with a similar result) Called the Castle. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0118826/ |

| This is the height of stupidity. From what I can remember off the top of my head, there is some sort of clause in the Constitution that is supposed to keep businesses from getting so large and acquiring so much power. |

I was in my local Christian bookstore the other day and I saw a book by him on his life. |
