When leading worship, don't worry about it if you mess up. 98% won't even know you messed up. 98% of the people who would have known whether or not you mess up, won't notice. 98% of those people who do notice, won't care!

-Choose songs that are both biblically accurate and musically accessible to your congregation.
-Don't fall in love with picking songs that are heavy on hype/excitement but light on lyrical content... Undignified, Every Move I Make, etc.
-If worship is primarily declaring God's worth, sing songs that objectively speak about God.
-Stifle neither truth nor emotion (spirit and in truth - John 4), which generally happens when drifting to the extreme with either.
-Don't impoverish your congregation by singing only old songs or only new songs.
-Don't treat the worship service like a concert, part of the priesthood of believers is that all believers are part of that OT Levitical choir now.
-Playing skillfully is commended in Psalm 33, so practice so as to acquire this proficiency.

just a few

for me it's knowing when to give way to other instruments.

During worship, listen to how the lead worshiper sing. Sometimes you may want to quiet down or mellow down as you play. There is often no time to look at each other and signal each one as the Spirit leads during worship. So, learn to listen to the other instruments and just go with the flow.

Simplicity. Definitely. And if you don't have it down, don't do it. Memorize all lyrics. Don't stress out about it too much. What God wants to hear and what people want to hear are totally different.

Remember why we play and who gave us the gifts we have !
If you cant hear the vocalist you are playing too loud !
Space or pauses are musical !
How you finish a song as a band is what is remembered not a mistep in the middle or at the front...so don't sweat the mistakes.
Be humble at all times and let the Worship Leader lead...its not about me !
