Does anyone know how to check your voicemail from another phone?

Well... I used to have a voicemail system where you called the number of the phone you wanted to check, waited until the voicemail picked up, and then pressed the pound key. Or something like that.

on my phone you have to wait until the voice mail comes on, and then press in your password.

Yes, I think that's a pretty standard method. The idea is to prevent everyone and their brother from being able to listen to your voice mail.

thats how my old voicemail worked, till we got dsl.

Mine, you dial a special number for some wierd recording lady, then your password. Then it takes you to your messages an other funky jazz.
