yes I think these 3 would go over nicely. | Yeah, that way we could add that "human element" to Christianity and also appeal to the urban crowd. |

| Heck why not a "Jesus is my Nizzle" or "Jesus is my Pimp" or "Jesus is my Dealer" or "Jesus knows Jack" or "Jesus---Saves in His White T" or "Jesus is my Rodeo Clown" or "This is my Jesus shirt" or "Word to yo Jesus"? The list could go on and on....

| Just to play devil's advocate since we are all in strong agreement that "Jesus is my homeboy" is totally God-honoring, can I have some biblical ammo that shows Jesus was often refered to by culturally equivalent terms? |

| i have a Jesus is my homeboy shirt. I don't think that it is a bad thing. I did see a magnet that said 'Jesus is my boy-toy' i did find that offensive. |

Not to mention the other people with whom I work who make comments such as, "That's pretty cool" when I inform them that I'm not going out to party Friday night, because it's against my faith? MTV least of all....Not to mention the fact the shirt is sold in Spencers (shudders). More of my lost friends have these shirts than my christian friends, and I'd venture to say it's probably like that everywhere from what I've seen. So I think the shirt was made by the lost, for the lost, to poke fun at Christ. Sort of like putting the purple robe on Christ.
| That is an interesting and insightful observation. And it's probably true. But then, as I said before, the word, "Christian" was also originally a mockery of those who followed Him. Should we all stop calling ourselves "Christians?" Quote:

| Or that He isn't, for that matter. So far, everybody else has done as much speculation and personal interpretation as I have... Quote: |

| Yes, because Jesus went about making blanket statements of people whom He'd never met, based on preconceived notions, and in so doing, alienated 30% of a country's population. You know, not everybody who lives in the inner city spray-paints walls, or is by any stretch of the imagination a "street kid" as you so eloquently phrased it. Instead of a shirt that debatably "degrades" Christ, we'll sling about terms that overtly degrade people. Good show.

| I find the whole concept sickening, but even worse is the notion that we should make Him 'more culturally accepted' or some other stupid junk!
You should really check how your refferring to Jesus, perhaps you entertain some fantasy that wearing a shirt saying 'Jesus is my Homeboy' will get people saved, but i can assure you that is far from the plans of the millions of non-christian people who wear the shirt with no other intention but to degrade Jesus and degrade Christianity! |

| Millions? Really? Do you have a source for this number, or are you just making it up? Your statement falters on two key points: Firstly, it presupposes that millions of people are wearing them, and second, that you interviewed them all and found that they were doing it to degrade Christianity.

Secondly it is degrading. Perhaps you don't think so and thats sad. Saying Jesus is my Homeboy is degrading. I find the pictures in themself degrading. Explain to me how many people with no concept of Christ as our Saviour could wear the t-shirt in a non-degrading way! |
