Boldness of the Lord

When I think of boldness, the first thing that comes to my mind is Numbers 13. Moses had chosen twelve people to go into Canaan to explore the lands. This land was extremely productive and fruitful, but was populated with absolute giants, and the majority focused on the giants instead of the productivity of the land that was promised to them.

It took great boldness for Joshua and Caleb to stand up against the negativity of the crowd and say "We should go up and take posession of the land, for we can surely do it." sometimes the majority will be against us, but we can't look at the odds that oppose us like ten of the twelve did. We have to be like Joshua and Caleb and look at the God that can get us through the obstacles.

God has promises laid out for every one of us, but we'll never get them without a challenge. As my pastor says, "Another level, another Devil." But you can't look at the problems that face you, you have to concentrate on the conquering you're going to be doing to those problems.

Deut 20: 3-4 says: He shall say: "Hear, O Israel, today you are going into battle against your enemies. do not be fainthearted or afraid; do not be terrified or give way to panic before them. For the Lord your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory.
So, it's God who fights our battles for us. We have no reason to be afraid of anyone that tries to oppose us. Sometimes little kids will argue about whose Daddy can beat whose Daddy. Well, we have to be able to take confidence in our Heavenly Father, and look our enemies straight in the eye and say "I'm not afraid of you because my Daddy can whup your Daddy!"

Joshua 1:9 says "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageoud. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go."
We've got no reason to be afraid of our problems and enemies. Why? Because God is always going to be with us. He commands us to be strong and courageous, and not to be discouraged, because He gave us a promise that wherever we go, He will be with us for the rest of our days.
