Krystal Meyers' Self Titled Debut Releases June 7 Amid Industry and Consumer Buzz

As sixteen year-old Krystal Meyers prepares to release her self titled, debut on June 7. The attention surrounding this album is coming from all directions; radio, retail and music lovers alike.

Krystal's single "The Way To Begin" soared to No. 1 on R&R's CHR radio chart where it has stayed steady for three weeks while climbing through the Top 10 on R&R's ROCK radio chart currently sitting at No. 6. She recently visited 30 top radio stations in the AC, CHR and ROCK formats.

"Krystal was something that I was looking for specifically – a girl who rocks," said Scott Veigel, program director KXWA-Denver. His sentiments seem to be felt by listeners as well. Krystal is in demand at retail with her release still two weeks away.

"This is a unique album that delivers high energy music. Krystal's sound and message strongly represent the customers that frequent our stores. We're anticipating great things from this artist at the retail level," comments Joel Bramwell, buying manager for Christian Supply of Portland, Oregon. "Because of the tremendous airplay," he continues, "we've already had quite a few people come into our stores humming the song, asking if we have the album in yet. It's an amazing phenomenon!"

Krystal Meyers will be featured at retail stores on the "Buy It Now" promotion this summer. The multi-artist promotion features 12 best-selling titles with an instant $5.00 off coupon and includes some recent chart-toppers such as Joy Williams Genesis and Jars of Clay Redemption Songs.

Currently on the road with label mate Day of Fire, Krystal has played about 30 cities and will soon announce tour plans for summer and fall. "Krystal has made a tremendous impact on the road with crowds and promoters," said Tony Johnsen, agent, CAA. "This girl keeps the audience on its feet and rocking. Spring has been strong for Krystal and she isn't stopping. We can expect big things from this show in the future."

Watch for Krystal's upcoming features this summer in BRIO, CCM Magazine, Campus Life, Christianity Today, and HM Magazine. You can also catch her on TV-U and hosting her own video countdown on the Gospel Music Channel.

It sounds like some label is hoping for another Bethany Dillon hit.
