-Jake- | Overall, I approve of Bush's presidency. There are somethings I don't approve of (medicare bill) and things I do approve of (invading Iraq). But the approvals outweight the disapprovals. |

| I am truly undecided at this point. I applaud him ending partial-birth abortions, his handling of 9/11, and I'm impressed by his re-election campaign last year.
However, while I think Afghanistan was a legitimate counter-attack to 9/11, I fear the Bush administration was too hasty in invading Iraq. There was still work to be done in Afghanistan, and Iraq was not an imminent threat (an invasion could have safely been delayed a few years).
Also, building a shakey case for invasion of Iraq, then changing the reasons for invading at different times during the occupation, was a big no-no for me. I'm also not a fan of this "you're either with us, or you're with the terrorists" business. Neo-conservative ideology scares me. The ghost of McCarthy is beginning to haunt our nation's capitol. We have way too many problems at home to begin worrying about other people's problems (especially those that have nothing to do with us). And finally, I dislike his inability to admit guilt or fault for anything.
Overall, this balances to "undecided-leaning-disapprove" for me. I truly cannot make up my mind what I think about this President. Only time will tell the legacy left by the Bush administration.

| He seems like a pretty cool guy. I sorta like the fact that he isn't your everyday steryotypical politician. And I'm sorry if I offended anybody in my earlier posts. Also, Wow. I thought this was a christian forum. Can you say "kick his ass" in here?

| I'm not sure why we're actually worrying about whether we approve of our president or not. He's our president, so let's just get over it. We won't be able to make him resign just because a lot of people say they don't like him.
By the way, I support him. |

And yes, guitarguy, the word "ass" is permissable in these boards, as long as it is sparingly used. If it offended you, I apologize; I meant no offense and only used the phrase as a matter of emphasis; I'm not on a campaign to use as much profanity as possible until someone kicks me out of here.

Saddam should have been removed from power, yes, but the timing was fishy. The Iraqi war was done with a relatively low loss of human life, but Afghanistan still looms heavy on the horizon. And the nagging thought is, why not Sudan?
I am suspicious of his motivations even though I approve of a lot of his actions in their outworking. | Well... Sudan doesn't have natural resources. So, really, who cares what happens to them? It's all about who has the most toys. [/sarcasm]
Honestly, there are countries that are far worse off then Iraq was. Sudan barely has a government right now. What does consist of their government is committing the biggest act of genocide going on right now. Sudan is far worse off than Iraq was.

Sudan has oil, lots of it, and the primary supply of gum arabic in the world which you consume in practically every candy bar and soft drink. It is precisely because of their resources, that Sudan has not been attacked.
