what was the purpose of your post danny? To piss me off or ruffle my feathers? Because you didn't. I can't help that you feel the way you do. I was just stating what I felt and you attacked me. All I stated in the above is that Bush is just a person like me and you. And its people like you that make me not so proud to be american.

ps Why do so many people hate on bush? I think its a trend just like nu metal, grunge, bling bling, and mtv. Just people trying to be cool and be a rebel. Im sorry but the 60's are over.

...this is a debate forum. I did not "attack you," I rebutted the points you made. I apologize if your intent was not to engage in debate or if I was too harsh.

Now that is just asinine. Are you this condescending to people who disagree with you on other subjects too, or is it just politics?

Actually... you are attacking him. He did nothing to attack you.

So you think it's a "trend" that's 40+ years old (that Bush himself grew up in)? Interesting. Idiotic, but interesting.

I know, I agree with you completely. Hopefully the trend of disagreeing with a democratically elected leader will be as dead as punk in a couple years.

why? He has pretty decent credentials, and seems pretty sharp, with a folksy manner of speaking.

I don't know, he just doesn't seem very sharp to me. That could be though because I'm getting my views through the filter of the Canadian media which tends to be very liberal.

Obviously to respond to the points you made in your post that he found to be poor.

Based off your response its pretty clear that he did ruffle your feathers.

Honestly, if you took what he wrote as a personal attack then you probably don't belong on a message board discussing politics, theology or anything else that you might take seriously. Danny responded to you in a perfectly normal fashion. Its called a discussion forum for a reason. I see three possibilities...

1. You aren't mature enough to handle serious debate/discussion

2. You dont' understand the purpose of these forums

3. You take attacks on your opinoins as personal attacks therefore you really don't have a good temperment/personality for a debate forum

Gimme a break, where you around 7 years ago? Conservatives tore into Clinton without mercy. If a president actually does stuff, a % of the country will love him and a % of the country will hate him. Thats the nature of politics. We're never going to all agree. Bush is being treated exactly the same way most every other president has been treated while they were in office.

What? I won't even dignify that with one of my witty insults.

Political strife goes back probably about 6000 years. As long as people have been organziging themselves there have been disagreements on how to do it. It didn't start in the 60s or with Bush.

Its highly unlikely that after 1000s of years of political bickering it will be "dead as punk" (whatever that means). This isn't a new thing and if its a trend its trend that has lasted 1000s of years.

Have you ever spoken with him? Probably not. The reason he doesn't come off sharp is because of the style of his speaking.

guitarguy and Danny: that's enough. I will start editing posts from here on out, and I will enjoy it.

I have actually spoken with him, and he exuded quite an air of competency.

My "not-so-proud to be an American" quip may have been a little out of line.

I don't think Danny was much of a naughty individual, but he did continue it. As my mommy always says, it takes two to argue. He may not be as guilty, but I'll kick his ass if it continues, as well as Sean's.

I was being sarcastic in that post. I believe that disagreeing with a leader is crucial to a democracy.

BTW, punk is dead.
