| Since when could baptist priests excommunicate? I thought hte point of the reformation was that the man-god relationship could not have intermediaries like priests and saints. |

| Yes, God loves only conservatives and republicans . . .
God only likes people who don't think of all, who think that you're more right then the next person because you can shout louder without any supporting facts or logic . . .

Of course, he was only ex-communicating them from that particular fellowship, not the faith. He was basically revoking their membership. |

| I didn't think any Baptist preacher had the authority to excommunicate anyone, either. Obviously I am shocked by this news. Quote: |

In reality, conservatism has nothing to do with the basis for one's belief in Christianity, so don't make associations that don't exist.
Or maybe what God isn't telling us is that he loves more the arrogant, prudish fellow who "really knows" about Christianity, who assumes that someone's faith in Christianity is somehow ridiculous and illegitimate on the basis that they voted for a particular political party.
I say this because I personally find your asinine generalizations to be offensive.

| I foresee that church losing 501(c)(3) status very soon. Heh.

| If I were them, I'd shake the dust of my feet and happily go elsewhere.

| What really blows me away is that at some point in time, this pastor thought that what he was doing was proper, justified, and a good thing. |

my hometown no less. Knowing some of th names, something tells me this has more to do with family than politics. Heck, half the baptists in that region are democratic relatives of mine, and they comprise most of the pastors and deacons!
There are other forces at work.
Also the fact that I know Waynesville very well, and do not know the whereabouts of this church make me think its little and sectarian. Methinks in that county there 501(c)(3) status is less in danger than there buildings existence...

I don't see any facts or logic to support your generalization of conservatives.
