The Only Source Of Strength We Need

"The Only Source Of Strength We Need"
By: Zach Wood
Psalm 105:4 (NASB)
Seek the LORD and His strength; seek His face continually.

We are all people who seek. We seek to fill our minds. We seek to fill our hearts. We seek to fill our stomachs. There are many people who seek sources of strength to keep themselves going. These sources include: caffeine, protein/energy bars, GNC products, daily vitamins, etc. The list could go on and on. There are things we seek that fill the body with good things, and there are bad things we seek. Many people rely on caffeine to keep themselves going through the day. For me, I weaned myself from caffeine about 1 year or so ago. I found that I relied too much on having caffeine to supply my energy for the day. And, when I didn't have it for a day, I usually got headaches. I got tired of consuming so much caffeine and decided that I would switch to decaf coffee. Now, when I drink coffee, I don't have the worry of headaches if I don't drink it for a few days. When I do drink caffeine, it's in moderation and only ever few days or weeks. My body just can't handle the amount of caffeine I used to drink.

I only use my example of relying on caffeine because I know that many of you can relate to drinking it. I feel that we rely way too much on worldly things to give us strength for each day. Sometimes it seems we try so many products that promise great strength through the day. Many of these products cause our bodies to develop a strong dependence on them.

We need to be continually seeking the strength of the Lord. We need to seek, seek, seek. We need His strength in the morning, throughout the day and at the end of our day. Nothing the world offers will give us the strength the Lord can give us. We must rely on His power, not on things the world throws our way. Now, I'm not saying if you're a caffeine drinker that you should abandon drinking it. I'm just saying that the "reliance" needs to be considered and we should all be relying more on God's strength in our lives rather than looking to what the world gives us.

God is the only source of strength we will ever need.
