The themes are
What is the cost of following Jesus?
Am I willing to pay the cost of following Jesus?
Am I willing to pay the cost of not following Jesus?
Here's the list so far.
I surrender all (All to Jesus I surrender)
Surrender (I'm giving you my heart)
Step by Step (oh God you are my God)
Everyday (What to say Lord? It's you who gave me life and I.."
If anyone could suggest some more uplifting songs that kind of go with the theme it would be great.
First off I just want to get this out there, weaving worship (in song) and message is a really good idea, my church does it to some degree
But.....
If you're trying to stick strictly to the theme...well, there really isn't too many uplifting themes on such a heavy subject....maybe try broadening up what the themes are a little to something like "My Redeemer Lives" and kind of fit that to mean "my redeemer lives therefore I can follow him"...I dunno....also you got to take into consideration that the congregation isn't going to sit there and analyze the sermon and find the themes like they would for a research paper or something. In other words...they probably aren't going to be near as critical about the connection between the message and the music as you are.
Thanks for the suggestions. I just want to fill you guys in a bit how we practice. Usually we go over 10 songs but only play 6 of them. That way we can adjust the worship service if needed and are still prepared. Also great way to get some practice too. I pretty sure we aren't gonna over load them with related theme song but it's something good to keep in mind.
Although it's not incredibly upbeat, it's very driving - "To the Ends of the Earth" it's a Hillsongs tune.

We recently did "May the Words of my Mouth" by Tim Hughes and strung it together with a solid up-beat contemporary version of "I Have Decided." It went really well.
Acquire the Fire had a song called "I Love to Know You" that was pretty repetitive but a good fit with your theme.
