The Chronicles of Narnia: THe Lion the witch and the wardrobe
Hey all. I was just checking out the website for this movie coming out in December. The website is http://disney.go.com/disneypictures/narnia/
And I have admit I'm terribly worried about how this is going to turn out. These books are my absolute favorite books. I loved every single book. And I'm going to be terribly picky about this film. It looks like they are adding Greek mythological creatures to the movie that I don't remember being in the book. They have minotours, cyclops (which I'm almost positive wern't in the books), minoboars, ankle slicers, and goblins (which I find more believable).
Check it out and let me know what all your thoughts are on this movie.
I hope they don't take the Christian theme out of it cause that just wrecks the story all together. It just wouldn't be the same story.

Dont be surprised if they do, you know hollywood. But they might not, seeing how well The Passion did.

The effects and costumes are being done by WETA. It's going to be incredible.

auhg. Disney is making them? I wouldn't expect a whole lot.

They're actually considering using the same marketing plan they used for the Passion. A "grassroots" ad campain, trying to get churches and faith based organizations to do posters and all that jazz.

I read in the paper that they were going to take all the religious imagery and symbology in the books and make it as blatant as possible in an attempt to get the same type of success that The Passion got.

Just because the movie will have blatant religious symbology/allegory doesn't mean it will be well done. I'm going to wait on passing a judgement until I see it. I remain without any sort of expectation.

I love the books and Im really looking forward to this. So I hope it is good.

My attitude is a worry, cause if it doesnt live up to my expectation Ill probably hate it.

I totally agree. I probably shouldn't but now I'm in the mood to read them again...this will be my 3rd time if I make it through all 7 books and probably not my last
