Picture of your Guitar
1 Attachment(s)
Ok boys and girls, weve' seen the threads about dream guitars and had many discussions about which one is better. I thought it would be nice to show what we are playing. So come on and post a pic of your guitar. Here's mine, nothing fancy it's a Yamaha F-310. It's a basic model, but it sounds good and I got it at a decent price.

Avalanche 126 09-11-2001 06:47 PM

Here's my 1 month 1 week old Gibson studio! well, it's not "mine" but that's what it looks like, except for the fretboard: it's a much darker rosewood, that blends in verrrrry nicely.

Dudes 09-11-2001 10:55 PM

:D This is my somewhat new Telecaster. It is so sweet. It's made from solid carved mahogany with a set mahogany neck, so it is light. Plus it has a through body bridge for added sustain, and humbuckers with just a little bit of dirt in them for some natural overdrive when ran through a clean amp.

Mine has a pick guard and it's got darker maple. It's called 900 series maple. Other then that it's the same guitar.

Heres mine.

Playn4God 09-18-2001 11:47 AM

Well, I have a Takamine Jasmine S35 now, but I am thinking about getting a Seagull with LR Baggs electronics, or a Larrivee D-02. Thought about a Taylor 310, but the places in Mobile sell them for too much, anyone know where i can get them for cheap (like $900 or less?) I would love it, thanks!

Aaron 09-18-2001 10:04 PM

I got my 614ce from Ebay for $1,400. My guitar retails for $3,500. You should be able to get a 310ce for around $600-$800. I'm talking no scratches or dents. I got mine pretty much mint. Only one dent on the back and I didn't even find it till I had it for a while.

This is my Ovation... A sorry looking picture, but I haven't had a chance to take one with my new digital camera yet.

Playn4God 09-19-2001 10:18 AM

yeah, a 310ce would be even better. The only problem is that I really don't like to do buisness off of eBay (I have been cheated by people there). MMI Music in Mobile sells the 310 non cutaway acoustic only for $1000, and that is out of my price range, but I saw in reviews that some people got them for about $750-800 average new. I am dying to find out where i can find one for that kind of a price, because I would rather have one of those than a Larrivee or Seagull. The closest Mars Music is 5 hours away, and the closest Guitar Center isn't close either, don't really have any music superstores in Mobile. Does anyone know where I can get one off of the internet for around this price? Thanks!

I put the same picture on another thread, but heres the shot of me git-tar~ :D

Playn4God: I bought mine used off of eBay for $630. At the famous "Rockwalk" Guitar Centre here in West Hollywood (CA), Taylor 310 prices can go from $730 to $950 new. I haven't been there for a while, so i am not sure of the current price... but i am assuming that any 310s here would be of the same price.

The retail price set by Taylor Guitars for a 310 is around $1300. And contrary to what you said in another thread, i think it IS worth that much! Heck... i can't afford no $1000+, let alone $630... that was all God haha

Oh well... hope you find one soon!

this is my guitar......Ever hear of Dorado? that's the brand.

Playn4God 09-19-2001 08:38 PM

Hey, thanks man, that is around the price of the Larrivee I was looking at ($800). I just like the Taylor more, looks better, and sounds better in my opinon too. and cuz they all sound the same, I know that I can buy a Taylor off of the internet knowing what it sounds like.

Justa Graze 09-19-2001 09:35 PM

I have two guitars right now. Here is my 68' Gibson B 25.

::Brent is drooling::

Aaron 09-21-2001 04:35 PM

Did out in the electronics after you bought the 810?? I didn't think Taylor sold fishmans in non-cutaways. I want to get a 2001 310e, not a 310ce. But Taylor doesn't sell it.

Playn4God 09-21-2001 04:41 PM

Haha, I would like a 310 too, but I need to find one I can afford first!!!

Aaron 09-21-2001 05:17 PM

I don't want a 310, I want a 310e.

Playn4God 09-21-2001 08:39 PM

well, thats what I meant, I knew you wanted that, I was just meaning in general the 300 series dreadnaught guitar.

Aaron, I'm assuming it was done at the factory. I say "assuming" because my 810 was a gift from my brother, who bought it used, so I don't know the prior history of the guitar. It was about a year and a half old when he bought it.

The Fishman has the Taylor logo on it, so I always just assumed it was done at the factory; however, I think it may have been first built and shipped without the 'e', and then been sent back to have it added. The reason I think this is that the case doesn't have a cutout for the electronics, while my DDSM's case does.

I know that Taylor has different "rules", if you will, about their 300 & 400 series. There are certain options you have on the 500's & up, such as different top woods, that you can't get in the 3's and 4's. Perhaps that's what the problem is with the non-cutaway. It's too bad that they don't offer the configuration that you want; I don't think I'd want a cutaway x10 either, but the electronics are nice.

I see that some of you have Takamine guitars. I got my Takamine G Series EG-230 Acoustic/Electric guitar at Guitar Center for $230, but i've seen them as high as $500. It's a great sounding guitar and looks great.

Playn4God 09-26-2001 08:19 PM

Yeah, i like the looks of those Takamines, although I am more of a dreadnought person, my Takamine is a dreadnought, and my Taylor that I am getting (finally found it at a price I can afford!) is going to be a dreadnought (but with a cutaway). I personally like the cutaways on dreadnoughts, but apparently Aaron and ihs don't :). well, enough rambling!! Nice guitars everyone!! and ihs, i am going to mess up my keyboard from drooling over your guitars!!

OK, I'm redoing mine cause I redid my guitar room.
Here we go, from left to right:
Ibanez SR-400
Les Paul copy
Peavey Generation custom
Martin DM
La Patri Motif (parlor sized classical)

Playn4God 09-27-2001 06:06 PM

Hey, nice collection!! and finally I saw some Martins, I was wondering if anyone owned Martins! But, me, I am more of a Taylor kinda guy, just about to get a Taylor 310ce :) I'll post a pic of it when I get it. :) BTW, Mesabooger, that is a pretty nice amp!! and I love how you hang your guitars on your wall!! that looks awesome, and the big amp in the middle! looks great!! If only I had enough room left in my room to do that!! but I have only 1 guitar now!
