DreamChaser 06-11-2003 08:50 PM

I'd love to sound like a good version of myself.

God's Jedi 06-11-2003 09:00 PM

I'd like to sound like someone who can sing, cuz I can't.

But seriously folks, I've always tried (and have come kinda close) to sound like Scott Stapp of Creed. He gotst a cool voice.

arsonist 06-11-2003 10:54 PM

tim foreman...for cool stuff

and someone who can sing good and then scream/yell/curdle really good...like the singer from 12 stones or from blindside or from chevelle:D

skankin4yaweh 06-12-2003 10:42 AM

Billy Corgan all the way! ;)

psalm63adam 06-12-2003 10:56 AM

Here's an easy way to sound like Billy Corgan -

Pretend your a sixth grade girl who just got told that she can't go try out for the American Idol Junior contest.

"BUT MOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM....."

Works every time. :)

I actually like Corgan's voice, because it's unique.

As for my own personal preference, I would like to sing like Jeremy Camp - I think he has a cool rock voice.

skankin4yaweh 06-12-2003 11:28 AM

Ha!

Yeah, I like Billy's voice too. But I would never sing in it, it's like a trademark. Same with Mike Stipe.

Now, my friend does a great Robert Plant...

God's Jedi 06-13-2003 09:57 PM

The guy from Switchfoot has a really cool voice. I'd love to sound like him.

Art 06-14-2003 01:28 AM

I really don't want to sing like other people.

i agree. i just wish i personally was a better singer.

Art 06-15-2003 04:29 AM

Yeah, I agree with that... but some people really love my voice, so I guess I'll keep it. :)

emo_boy 06-15-2003 02:55 PM

If I could sing, I'd love to be able to sing like the guy from 38th parallel that does the yelling and screaming, and also be able to sing like M@ Theissen.

(blank) 06-15-2003 04:58 PM

id like to sing like joe strummer, but really anyone with an english accent i think is real cool

Hoot Owl Shift 06-15-2003 05:20 PM

First I'd like to sound like myself.

If I had to sound like someone else I'd pick TBG's Adrienne Liesching or Ev.'s Amy Lee.

hahahaha, yeah english people are cool
we have a guy at our church from new zealand(close enogh to british) and its funny, cause he sings exactly like a midwesterner, but when he talks, you almost start laughing cause he has a hardcore accent.

iDogcow 06-18-2003 07:42 PM

I wanna sound like...The Doobie Bros!

Nutmeg 06-18-2003 08:07 PM

I would love to sound like Rachael Lampa! She has such a beautiful voice! I mean, I can sing, I just don't know if it's that pretty

Yojimbo 06-18-2003 08:40 PM

I'd sell my Water Works, Reading Railroad, and my hotel on Boardwalk to sound like Clay Aiken. He's amazing. Or Garth Brooks. He is equally amazing.

Oh gosh... I would love to have been born with either of their pipes.

he's going to get better, too. he needs some vocal training, not on how to sing, but singing styles. i wanted to shoot him when he sang "mack the knife" completely wrong style. he's gonna be really good a couple years. i look foward to him getting on some holiday time specials and singing.

yeah, i'd love to have his range.....

Swanky 06-22-2003 08:31 PM

i love my voice just the way it is, but if I could sound like anyone in the world it would be Caitlyn Smith!

bossman 06-22-2003 08:54 PM

I like my voice but if I could sing like someone it would be Chester from Linkin park, man i love his voice, but I would leave the rap behind and do something cooler. (easy to say when they're the ones selling millions of records) oh and Christian from blindside, his voice is great,

Mavsfan41 06-26-2003 05:05 PM

i may be crazy but the dude from the queens of the stone age. hes not that bad in my opinion

Singin4Him82 07-14-2003 06:26 PM

I just like to sound like me. If I were to wanted to sound like someone else I would not be unique and I wouldn't be using my voice the way God created it to sound.

I wanna sound like this one /\ ;)
J/K...I just want to sound like me :D
70.

Tenacious 07-18-2003 11:29 AM

I would want to sing like my friends, my friends have great singing voices :)

Shredcheddar 07-21-2003 08:20 PM

It'd be really cool to have Thom Yorke's voice.

Guitar MC 07-21-2003 08:56 PM

I want to be able to sing like Derrek Webb. I love when he does that think where his voice breaks up.

-Trey

AbbieLynn 07-25-2003 09:01 PM

I like to sing like myself. Which brings about the question, 'How do I sing?' It all depends on what I'm singing. When I sing pop, I sound poppy. When I sing gospel, I sound gospel-ly. When I sing opera, I sound opera-y. :S It all depends.

GRibbit 07-25-2003 09:14 PM

Haha good stuff AbbieLynn

Abbie Lynn 07-26-2003 09:26 PM

Well? How would you expect me to sing? Like Bruce Springsteen?

GRibbit 07-26-2003 09:26 PM

 lets hope not ;)

spiffyme 07-30-2003 12:30 AM

I just want to sound original... when someone hears my voice, i want them to know with out a doubt who i am. So many singers sound so alike, it gets boring.

tho i do admit i'd LOVE to sound like Jennifer Knapp or the girl from Evanesence......

Gott ist kühl 09-03-2003 10:36 AM

it would be really cool to sound like any of the following

Andrew - Project 86
Christian - Blindside
Davey - AFI
Raine - Our Lady Peace

H.M. Murdock 09-17-2003 10:37 AM

I'd like to be able to sing like Maynard James Keenan. :yep:
I CAN sound like Scott Stapp, Mac Powell, and a few others. But I REALLY wish I could sing (and scream) like Maynard.

shinemdm 09-20-2003 09:41 PM

I love Billie Joe Armstrong's (Green Day) voice. Very cool

Ted Logan 09-23-2003 07:28 PM

Why anyone would ever want to sound like Scott Stapp or Mac Powell is beyond me :D

I want everyone to know it's me when they hear my voice. I want it to haunt them when they hear it and don't know who I am. I want it to affect them in a profound way.

beanbag 09-25-2003 03:20 PM

If I could choose, I would want to be able to sing like Evanescence's lead singer...not sound exactly like her, because as everyone else said, that wouldn't be me...but I wish I could go really high and really low. Right now I'm just stuck in low lol.

Skeeter 09-28-2003 05:42 AM

Well, I try to sound like me, but some influences on how I try to use my voice are Hawksley Workman, Raine Maida, Kevin Max, and Benjamin Kowaliwecz (from Billy Talent). I wish I could perform vocal calisthenics like Hawksley, employ falsetto like Raine, have a range like Kevin, and scream like Benjamin.

Mara 10-22-2003 03:17 PM

I'd like to have Kevin Max's voice if I wasn't a girl. I would like to have TBG's lead singer's voice or Jennifer Knapp. if I was a guy I would want to sound like Switchfoot's lead singer or Jason Wade from Lifehouse (he rocks!!!!!!)

lisaboo 10-23-2003 06:09 PM

:brick: --haha...that looks awesome
Anyways, if this comes up as a new subject, my bad, sorry. I love Darlene Zchech's (?) voice. But I agree with the whole original voice thing. I'd never want to sound like someone else.

Rob 10-27-2003 12:06 PM

Reese Roper :D

Although I'd rather just be a better singer with my own voice. I talk like a surfer. Very unique.

Darlene Zchech, huh? There's a lady at the church my family goes to who sounds very similar to Darlene Zchech or however you spell that...awesome stuff.

joylovesskillet 11-21-2003 08:24 PM

I have one friend who says my voice is totally awesome, but I'm fairly sure she's only saying that to make me feel good. I don't really know who I would want to sing like, but it would have to be somebody who has a larger voice range than me.

DarylB 11-29-2003 12:04 AM

I want to sound like Mac Powell from Third Day. Love his deep rich tone.

PunkRocker 12-22-2003 09:21 PM

brandon boyd...definately. and second would be the guy in switchfoot (tim foreman?).

Tim is the bass player and backup singer. Jon is the main singer. I have been told that I sing a lot like him, but I'm a girl, so I don't know if that's a compliment.

Anyway, I want to be able to sing like Amy Lee. I don't think I would want to sing like her all the time, but to be able to sing like her would be cool.

Clayton 01-19-2004 08:22 AM

I have a friend who has never tried to sing regurlly but he can sing just like Bon from the old AC/DC records. It is the coolest thing eva :D
