The guitar you WISH you had?

If you could own any one guitar, regardless of price, what would it be? You can do acoustics and electrics seperately if you like. I'd pick the Dean Hardtail:

PianoMan 12-26-2002 08:50 PM

Yeah, Dean Hardtail is one, though I wouldn't mind having a Parker Fly Artist:

http://www.parkerguitars.com/images/Models/Artist.jpg

or a JET Earlewood w/ a flame top:

Shredcheddar 12-26-2002 10:49 PM

Cool, did you know a Parker Fly Classic would actually be my other bet?

How do you post multiple pic's in one thread??

Shredcheddar 12-26-2002 11:13 PM

I forgot acoustic. For acoustic, I'd go for an Olson. Here's an Olson SJ that I sure wouldn't mind having.:)

PianoMan 12-26-2002 11:15 PM

nice...and you post multiple pics by using the IMG option on the vB code bar - to get the address for a pic find it on the internet, right click then copy/paste the address. Its actually pretty easy.

gg7 12-26-2002 11:19 PM

the guitar i'm still in the process of fine tuning and finishing up on right now....the body is warmoth, the neck is warmoth (it's on the way here soon..don't like the original neck i got for it)..it's a thinline tele style guitar with one f-hole...one emg ft in the neck...one volume control...quilt maple top, alder body, crushed green pearl pickguard that kinda looks like the shape of florida..schaller strap locks, sperzel trim-lok graduated height tuners (no need for a string tree! yay!)..neck is maple with rosewood fretboard..side position markers only.....routed for bridge pickup, but no pickup in the slot (why? adds some resonance or something..it sounds better with an empty cavity or two).....
oh, and the body is finished with just tung oil right now...so it's a natural finish..didn't wanna cover the natural beauty of quilted maple on the top...i like natural...the neck will be finished in minwax polycrylic satin..maybe put some of that on the body too..not glossy..just looks like real wood..clear coat.

Thanks.

gg7, man, nice rig your building there! I've always wanted to do a Warmoth project but lack the tools and skills to build and assemble and finish. Good luck, man.

It's kind of hard to wish for a guitar that you're in the process of building though, isn't it?

NoNameFace 12-27-2002 01:35 AM

I would have to say, PRS Tremonti Model:

*drool* :D :p

Heather

NoNameFace 12-27-2002 01:36 AM

That's a really wacky looking guitar....

Anyways, in all reality, I would've enjoyed that 12 Stones signed Santana PRS..... But since I didn't get it... *cry*

Umm... but right now, I think I could go for a 60's Ebony LP.

Avalanche 126 12-27-2002 09:43 AM

I AGREE!!!! Mark Tremonti - titanium version
aaaaaaahhhhhughhhgpoghghghhgggghhhhhh

Reuben 12-27-2002 12:09 PM

Definately a Gibson ES-335.

*high five* score! :D lol

Travis 12-27-2002 12:33 PM

One (or both :D) of these (although I'd want them both solid black):

(ok so they're bass guitars... sue me. :p)

Griffon 12-27-2002 02:01 PM

If money were no problem then I'd go with a custom Timtone, like the one below.

http://www.timtone.com/Scans/DX2Angleface.jpg

gg7 12-27-2002 03:14 PM

ah well, i'm still wishing for it now b/c it's not done, heh....unless i have to go out of town for work or get extremely busy here, it should be done in 1-2 weeks...finally...

that timtone is a beautiful looking guitar...except for all those knobs and controls..they take away from the appeal for me..otherwise, wow..

Lightinthedark 12-27-2002 04:03 PM

Definitely the PRS Tremonti model, or the Gibson SG Standard. What the heck, since this is my dream guitar, why not have both, with about 5 quadrillion watts of Marshall power behind 'em. (Tim Taylor grunt)

FTS 12-27-2002 04:55 PM

I would really like to have that PRS Dragon 2k2, and I would like an Ibanez Jem 7VWH, also an Ibanez JS1000.
Umm I'd also like that Gibson ES 335 someone posted earlier... and a Jackson RR1, and a Jackson DKMG.
There are prolly a few other guitars.... I really like the George Benson signature series by Ibanez as well.
I think that's it.
Oh all of them would be custom modified to my specs as well

GMartin2R 12-28-2002 01:16 AM

either a fender american fat strat w fr trem or a martin dxm121... depending on the sound. i played one a while back that beat the competition hands down.

awww...I like switches and knobs...but that's just me...but yeah, that's a very nice guitar

I've actually looked into doing a Warmoth project though, make sure to tell us how yours turns out.

Reuben 12-28-2002 04:49 PM

ooh, wait... I sorta changed my mind. I think I would go with the Gibson CS-336. It's like a scaled down version of the ES-335. I would still want it in Beale Street Blue, though.

PianoMan 12-28-2002 06:46 PM

man, I was at Guitar Center a few hours ago and they had this beautiful guitar on display...

NathanGrimm 12-29-2002 12:43 AM

Did they let you take it for a test drive? :D
nathan

PianoMan 12-29-2002 09:30 AM

I wish, it was locked away in a glass display case.

BluesJunkie 12-29-2002 07:31 PM

I want and need a goldtop Les Paul.

JohnnyP.O.D.fan 12-29-2002 08:05 PM

my dream guitar is a PRS custom 22 with dragon two pickup's and dr string's a fat neck man i want it so but but i had to choose a mesa boogie triple rectifier over it *cry's* im gonna get it in a year tho *smiles* :D

Mr. Squeeky 12-29-2002 08:17 PM

Hmmmmm either a Koa Grand Auditorium Taylor or a '76 Rodriguez Brazilian Rosewood and Western Red Cedar classical.

selfsame singer 12-29-2002 11:23 PM

My friend has (I think it's a fender) nighthawk. They don't make them anymore. Infact they didn't make many. But thay are freak'n cool. Other than that I'd get a good Les Paul.

Taylor 900 series or Taylor Presentation Series
or Maybe a Martin D-28...ahh

:cowboy:

LightningGuitar 12-31-2002 12:52 PM

this is the one i would like to get. maybe soon:kgrin:

BluesJunkie 12-31-2002 01:43 PM

LightningGuitar - I have that exact guitar. (There's a picture of it in my blog.) It sounds great, but I don't play it much because the action is really high. I left the high action because I've been telling myself I'm going to spend more time working on playing slide, but I've never gotten around to it. I think I'm going to drop the action down so I can use the guitar for normal playing.

LightningGuitar 12-31-2002 06:40 PM

thats cool

i want to get that guitar maybe next summer, just looking at it make me go crazy.

Grasshopper359 12-31-2002 06:59 PM

My personal fantasy guitar would be a Jean Larrivée JV-10E. But at $5300, it's waaaaaaay out of my price range right now. :(

I would really like to have this Heritage:http://www.heritageguitar.com/models...MBER-ULTRA.jpg

And this Taylor 612ce, but with a natural (not blue) spruce finish:http://www.taylorguitars.com/guitars.../pix/612ce.jpg

John Clark 01-14-2003 07:06 PM

PRS Custom 22......mmmm!

John Clark 01-14-2003 07:08 PM

No, wait....

John Clark 01-14-2003 07:11 PM

Wait......TOO MANY!!!!

Shredcheddar 01-14-2003 07:42 PM

Hey Nate, that 612ce... sweeeet guitar. A senior in my youth group bought one.. it cost him $2500. It's natural.. such a beautiful guitar.

I'd have to say an Olson for acoustic, though.
