Singing

Guys, I really want to learn to sing.

Any tips?

Should I sign up for a class? Watch some youtube video?

How/Where do I start?

my opinion is that voice lessons would be the quickest method to learn to do it right.

doing videos or audio cds doesn't guarantee that you are doing it right - or that your particular vocal style is in alignment with what they are teaching.

Voice lessons definitely would be the way to go. I'd recommend looking for connections in your church or even local colleges or unis.

Should I look for a male teacher or doesn't it matter?

Knowing little to none about singing, I don't know if it makes a difference.

I have no idea on that. and being an egalitarian, I am offended that you would ask. ;)

I have an acquaintance who is pretty awesome singing teacher, and he provides lessons over Skype, if you can't find anyone appropriate around your country.

holy cow, I'm so ashamed of you both right now. you ever watch that Marky Mark movie Rock Star? the dude from Steelheart provided the voice for the songs. he has a crazy high range. check out this song - and stick with it until the last note he sings, at 4:20. yowza.

Thatís impressive. I played it really loud and a pod of dolphins swam up the harbour flipping out.

Dwight Schrute 11-05-2019 05:42 AM

Steelheart is dolphin-approved!

Giuseppe 11-05-2019 07:33 AM

I just want to sing like Mariah Carey

Is it much to ask?
