My pick is Wuv of P.O.D.

R2D2 04-03-2002 06:06 PM

Paul Roraback of Gideon's Press (and ex-drummer of Grammatrain).

Jay Tea 04-04-2002 10:04 AM

Terl Bryant/Frank van Essen of Iona

HeavenOnAStick 04-04-2002 12:05 PM

I don't know that many chirstian drummers. But Will Denton is purty good, nto sure 'bout the best though. Ther was this other really good guy, but I forgot his name.

Strider 04-04-2002 12:25 PM

Insane Drummer 04-04-2002 02:48 PM

david carr of third day

DragonflyDrumme 04-04-2002 09:36 PM

I really like Lori Peters of SKILLET. One of the best female drummer I have ever heard, seen, and met. She's is incredibly amazing and amazingly good looking. :) But that's not the only reason why I like her... let's just get that straight. :klol:

Xkcer Man 04-04-2002 10:12 PM

Third Day's my favorite band, but I'm not sure about saying David Carr is the best Christian drummer. I can't think of anything terribly outstanding he does on any of their songs. He's one of those "less is more" drummers.

Then again, Christian music (at lost not what I listen to) doesn't tend to feature drums very much. I listened to a few of Third Day's songs, and Dave's always got something pretty cool going on, and it's definately not out of character with the rest of the music, so I guess I will say David Carr.

+Donny 04-04-2002 10:23 PM

BEST DRUMMER!!

Best Christian drummer?? It's a tie between Ted Kirpatrick of Tourniquet & Tim Waterson, the Fastest Feet in the world!!!! Tim has the record for 1407 beats in 60 seconds playing doubles on a double pedal!!!!!!

+Donny 04-05-2002 10:50 PM

umm, sorry, but foot speed doesnt make a drummer

buddy rich was fast, but he had other amazing characteristics

Xkcer Man 04-05-2002 11:07 PM

Buddy Rich was just an all-around nice guy.

+Donny 04-05-2002 11:16 PM

Andrew Verdecchio, he is GOOD, I don't know about the best though

+Donny 04-05-2002 11:22 PM

ooooooohhh

that was cold

but after watching him, i found out that playing that old school big band/jazz type drumming(actually, mainly his solos) is FUN!

i love doing it, and it increases your speed:)

ThisIsDex 04-05-2002 11:55 PM

i like jesse smith from zao

+Donny 04-06-2002 12:16 AM

ugh

the drummers are good, i dont like their "singing" though

CymbalicGesture 04-07-2002 07:54 PM

The best Christian drummer... hum... I don't know for sure, but Wuv is good- especially on the new CD. There is a guy out there though in a Christian band that is very talented. Look for him in the future. His name is Randy Shreve of GS Megaphone. His band is made up of himself and his brother, Ben, on bass, and two other guitarists. You can here them play just about anytime the Christian Motorcyclists have a major rally. Not only is he a great drummer, but he is sowing back into the lives of other drummers. He has made two instructional videos to help teach some of his techniques to others and to give them a Christian perspective on drumming. His band tours all over the country and has a lot of venues through the Christian Motorcyclists Association. They also tour on their own with a youth evangelist. If you guys ever get a chance to see GS Megaphone or buy their CD (self-titled) I guarantee you'll be blessed by it!

Insane Drummer 04-08-2002 12:38 PM

i might download some of there stuff and check them out..

Unregistered 04-08-2002 02:08 PM

What about the fill in the middle of Consuming Fire???

HeavenOnAStick 04-28-2002 09:43 PM

It isn't that good. It sounds awesome, but is not that hard. I can play it, and so can the kid in my bro's band.

Jay Tea 04-29-2002 07:58 AM

Oh, wow...Consuming Fire is not a hard fill at all. It fits the song great, and I probably wouldn't have thought of it, but actually playing it is really not very hard. There used to be a little movie clip of Carr showing how to play it on 3D's website

Insane Drummer 04-29-2002 09:46 AM

its not really hard to play but it sounds great.....

Unregistered 04-29-2002 09:56 AM

Joe Nixon of Slick Shoes

I'm talking about how he took that ridiculously simple fill and tunred it into such an awesome one!
