Toast's Music

I'll be posting links to my original songs here from now on.

Here's one I just finished today.

"Just Go" (Original Song)

I like songs that tell a story instead of having a standard lyrical pattern of verse, chorus, verse, chorus.
This is good stuff. The quality is actually pretty good if that is just your laptop microphone.

Thanks man. Laptop mic + audacity with edits adding just a hair of delay, reverb (as subtle as I could get the gverb plugin to be), and a hard limiter. I recorded it as a video, converted to a mp3, imported to audacity, and went from there.

Wrote a new song and recorded a concept. Called "Power Lines".

Power Lines (Concept)

Finally got around to recording this (well, if you can call using a laptop mic and Audacity "recording"). Wrote it April of 2013.

I really wanted this one to reflect my personality in every aspect of the recording, from the background noise to to slight pitch and volume variations, the 3 layers of guitar, the soft-spoken nature of the vocals being difficult to pick out forcing the listener to pay close attention, cross-processing and leaving some things messed up. From a musical and recording standpoint, it's kinda lame. But from a personal standpoint, I listen to this and hear myself. And for this project, that's what I wanted.

"4/20" (Original Song)

Frankly if I never ever play or sing this song again, I would be totally okay with that.

Couldn't sleep tonight, so I started plucking around and recorded something new.

Midnight Interlude

New concept. This is actually for a class.

Based on the previous concept...

Filmed my set Friday night. Here it is:

Also, happened to leave the rear camera rolling (on accident) and caught the next group's set. Here's one of F.M. Down's tunes (they're pretty good)

Oh no, for some reason I botched this link. Okay, here it is.

Invisible

Ben Toast 08-12-2015 01:23 PM

My friend and I (after maybe having a bit too much to drink) decided to record an acoustic cover of "The Bitter End" by Placebo last night... using my phone... Anyway, upon listening, we're thinking about doing an *actual* acoustic recording of this. If you'd like to see a recording, just drop a line. :)

Was momentarily despaired to find that all but the latest link are busted? Went to your home page from The Bitter End. Some smooth stuff you've got there, needless to say I prefer the tracks with guitar in them. :)

The "Random Acoustic Piece" and "Invisible" were both great, and really like your rendition of "Bells". Good stuff.
