question about taylor guitars in general

okay, i'm looking for an acoustic/electric and their line consists of the 100's (200,300,400, whatever) my question is what is the difference between the X10's and the X12's and the X14's. i dont understand the difference between the 10,12's and 14's. does anyone know? all the specs list them as the same!

Those differences are the body style. The 10's are a dreadnought. 12's concert, 14's grand concert.

I just recently got a new Taylor 414CE limited, rosewood back and sides with the maple strip in the middle and maple binding as well. I love the sound that the x14 produce, in my opinion it is the perfect balance. Atleast for me it is.

Hi Crazy C...
X10 largest, X12 smallest, X14 mid-sized.

I just got a brand new Taylor 814CE. I'm really loving the sound that I'm getting from it. It's good for both finger-picking, but it seems to handle medium strumming pretty well too.

I personally like the x14's due to the full range of sound including a little bass. The smaller the body usually the brighter the sound (less bass). It all depends on the sound that you like. I own 2 Taylor x14ce's and absolutely love them. Of course then you get into the different tone woods which also adds a monkeywrench into the mix. Good luck
