Okay, wiring question.

If I had an ON/ON/ON mini-switch, could I wire so that in the middle position, the pickup selection would be whatever the 5-way was on? Then, when to the left, have HH, then when to the right have HSH?

I'm looking into that...

Let's see... Need to order a mini switch and something else I forgot... Hm.

Okay, for now I ditched the miniswitch idea and just re-routed some of the wires. So now, this is the setup:

Position 1: Middle
Position 2: Bridge/Middle
Position 3: Bridge
Position 4: Bridge/Neck
Position 5: Neck

Okay, so I accidently switched the bridge and middle wires.

Anyway, there either is a problem, or not. When switching between the Neck and Neck/Bridge positions, I hear absolutely no difference. Either it's a bad solder joint, or maybe there isn't much of a difference anyway. I was expecting more...

Pickguard: As soon as I get the measurements right ( :brick: ), the pickguard material will be sent to my grandpa for cutting. :D

Mmm this project has been dragged on for awhile. I put a new cardboard pickguard on because the other was failing after a few months. I changed the design a bit, now with points on the upper and lower horns. I like it. That's what the real pickguard will look like when I get it cut.

The material is getting sent for cutting tomorrow or Tuesday! :)

Yay :) And yeah, you started this project in...February.

were/how are you having your pickguard cut? mind if i ask what it costs? i have made plans for a new guard for my guitar, but since i lack the required tools i'm out of luck unless i can find a palce that does the work for a fair price.

I'm having my grampa do it. He has a full workshop and has experience with anything requiring tools.

Okay, it's actually ready now! Off for cutting tomorrow! Yay. :)

Ryan Freeland 12-28-2006 08:20 PM

It's here. It's installed.

But there is a problem.

My bridge pickup isn't working. Stupid solder joints.

And it's restrung and everything. *sigh* pics coming.

EDIT: I moved the switch around a bit and the bridge works fine now. But, the single is being weird. Clip:

neck bucker -> neck bucker/bridge bucker -> bridge bucker -> bridge bucker/middle single -> middle single

Here are pics. Better ones coming tomorrow.
