Wel, everybody will think a different guitar is best, so you need to awnser these question.

What is your current gear?
What style of music do you play?
Who are your favorite artists that you wanna sound like?

Ryan Freeland 01-08-2006 08:32 PM

And the most important...

What's your price range?

thrashmetal15 01-08-2006 08:32 PM

yeah, I agree; different guitars are better for different styles, and features, and price ranges, etc...

Gotta narrow the requirements some. ;)

jamforchrist123 01-08-2006 08:35 PM

woops, I forgot about price range...

Shane's LesPaul 01-08-2006 08:50 PM

Yeah, the price range is a big issue. What you pay for is what you get. If you got the money, I would suggest an Epiphone Les Paul Custom. I got a red flamed top one and I love it. it looks fantastic, sounds great, and plays like a dream. It's best for musical styles that need a solid, strong sound. :yep:

This is easy just get a tele.

Just kidding. while i love tele's. others may not and it may also might not be the best fit for your situation.

I actually agree.

It's pretty simple, get a tele.

Carvin, Agile, and Mr. Potato all make great guitars at decent to great prices. I doubt you'll be able to run across a Mr. Potato in the US though.

nick2282 01-08-2006 10:24 PM

unless you play metal or jazz, get a tele. Hey Thrashmetal15, i notice you have a Tone Zone in your set up. How do you like it? i ordered one a few weeks ago for my semi hollow.

Casey 01-08-2006 10:26 PM

apparently, you've never heard of motorhead. your statement is 100% false/misleading. one can play jazz and/or metal on a tele.

thesteve 01-08-2006 10:28 PM

what can't you play with a Tele :)

Minger 01-08-2006 10:32 PM

Go with the Agile guitars - if you're into any of the Gibson/Epi designs you will love Agiles - get one and swap the pups (or get one with the P90's) and you will have spent so much less than you would have for an Epi.

Just my 2 cents - I'm cheap :D

ToneZone: Shred pickup. It's got a good balanced clean sound. Pretty high output, lots of bass. Slays when heavily distorted.

What kind of music were you planning on using it for? The stock pup that came with my SZ had a great jazzy warm clean sound, but sounded terrible distorted.

Overall it's very versatile, more designed for heavy music IMO, but should do fine for other applications.

hope this helps.
