Why become a paid member?
Honestly, the main reason to become a paid member is to help support this site. However, paid members do receive the benefits of not seeing the more flashy Fastclick banner advertisements (they see only the less intrusive Google advertisements), they are allowed to have larger avatars (125x125 instead of 90x90) and they can hold more private messages (500 instead of 150).

How much is a paid membership?
Paid memberships are $10 per year.

I am a paid member, but I don't seem to be getting the ad and avatar benefits...
If you pay via Paypal, your benefits should start immediately. If you paid using a credit card or check, it will take a little while for us to get you upgraded. If it's been more than a few days, post a request in the User Maintenance Requests forum.
