A Warning About Cheap Journals

Cheapness in the Journals forum is something that has been a concern ever since the forum's creation. The main problem is that journals have had a growing trend of turning into a series of conversations consisting of a large amount of one - two line and/or smiley onley posts. These types of things need to be kept on instant messaging services or barring that, Private Messaging through CGR or even in the CPF.

A journal, put simply, is a place where you chronicle your life's events. However, the Journals forum is also a great place to get to know each other, and a wonderful way to share our deepest thoughts and feelings with each other. Now, some side conversation is bound to happen, and that's fine. It happens, and it's what makes CGR journals different from (and better than) things like Xanga or Blogspot. Plus it's through these conversations that we really get to know each other. But it's the journal that is supposed to be the focus of the thread.

If a journal is starting to become cheap, a warning will be issued and the journal will be reviewed over an undisclosed amount of time. Excessively cheap journals or repeated warnings will be dealt with by being moved into the Cheap Post Forum. I realise that it can be excessively frustrating to have your journal moved or taken away like this. Therefore the administration team (Smods and Admins) especially myself can act as a sort of appeal system for anyone who thinks their journal has been moved in error. However, should the Smod/Admin decide that the journal shall remain in CPF this decision is final. You will be more than welcome to start a new journal, however, the new journal cannot be cheap or it will be sent off as well.
