CGR Members' Literature: This forum is for members to post poetry, novels, drama, and any literary work that they have written. It is also for the discussion and criticism of such works, so as to be helpful and educational in the literary pursuits of the members of CGR.

Here are some rules to follow when posting your work in CGR Members' Literature.
1) You may choose to start a single thread to post all of your work in over an extended period of time, or you may start a new thread for each individual piece. That is entirely up to you.
2) Please put the title of your piece in the subject line. That will draw more traffic to your thread, and keep things organized.
3) If you would like honest critique on your piece - criticism that will point out weak areas so that you can tweak your work - you may put "RC" in the subject next to your title, which stands for "Real" or "Rough" criticism.
4) Please do not "bump" your thread, or post in it just to beg for readers or to put it at the top of the forum so that others will see it. You may get a lot of feedback on your work, or you may not. It is all dependant on traffic to this forum, reader interest, the time that individual readers have to read and respond.
5) Do not post work that is by someone other than yourself. We have strict copyright guidelines to follow, and posting something that you have no right to post is illegal. Please only post what
you have written.

Some things to remember:
- Do not be disappointed if you do not receive the feedback you expected. If nobody posts on your piece, that doesn't necessarily mean that nobody has read it, or that nobody liked it. Bumping or cheap posting is not allowed - and cheap posting moderation is a lot more strict in this forum than in others.
- Be careful about putting "RC" in your thread title - if you do not want to hear what you did badly or what you could improve on, please do not post as RC. If you do post as RC, please be willing to hear what others have to say. Being defensive or rude will not be tolerated.
- Be kind when replying to others' pieces. Just like you wouldn't want to hear "I hate this" or "this sucks", so is everyone else. Be sure to balance criticism with praise - and if you don't have anything good to say, better to say nothing at all.
And most importantly....
- Remember that the more you read and respond to others' work, the more others' will feel inclined and encouraged to respond to yours. Let's all help make this an active forum - if you have time and interest, read what others have written and create discussion about it. Ongoing literary discussion will make this forum helpful and interesting.
