I dunno about all you hunters out there, but man am i ever stoked about "Summer of Darkness"....only 9 more days...has anyone heard "Not Ready to Die"?....what do you think of it?...quite a bit different from their last album....but, wow, is it ever awesome....i'm really stoked...

i cant wait i have heard about 5 of the tracks off the cd is awesome plus with Trevor from TFK and the guy for the agony scene (cant remeber his name) it is going to rock. Its gonna be hard to do better then the first album but i think it will

I accually think Trevor is on 2 songs....if you listen carefully to the second, less obvious, one, the way the voice is sounds very much like Trevor...

The first song with a guest is the guy from Extol....i think....you know, the voice that sounds like the dying cochroach...


I still havn't been able to get this album, but my bro has it...the stoopid CD store in town(i live in a town of 7,000) still hasn't got it in....i ordered it over a month ago...they told me it'd be in within a week....i'm getting kinda peeved, cause i love this CD and want my own copy....sufice to say, i'm never ordering anything from that store again...

have any of you guys seens the music video for "Not Ready to Die"...it's good...but the problem with it is that it was shortened cosiderably....the pre-chorus is non-existant and the intro was shortened....but overall, a good video...go to DemonHunter.net (www.demonhunter.net/media.php) to see it...

this cd is awesome!!! my favorite song is beheaded. the guitar on that is frikkin sick. i also like # 8, forgot the name, too lazy to go look at it. i cant wait till someone starts tabbin it out (cant tab worth beans). my band is goin to play their style. im already workin on some songs that sound hunterish.

I live in a town of about 7,000...deep in the British Columbian middle-of-nowhere....still not in either...the supplier is back ordered....western Canada's largest CD supplier and they're back-ordered??....i think they're just supplying big places right now....they don't care about a small place when they can make 10 times as much in a big place...

So....the video??....it just takes a long time to load....and if it starts getting choppy, just pause it, rewind to the beginning and wait 'till the "length bar" is all grey, not white....try that....but i know how you feel....some band videos i can't watch on my PC either...

and about "my heartstrings come undone"....every band needs a bit of a balance....if you're in a metal band, don't just write heavy songs...write a couple of soft ones....it enhances your abilities.....

you don't need to have clean guitars to have a good soft song....remember "the gauntlet"????....good distortion, really soft song.....many good soft songs still have heavy distortion in them....just not as loud compared to the words....and not as agressive or fast strumming...but still heavily distorted nevertheless......

i know that, it sounds good with both. this is totally awesome, check it out: my dad owns this christian concert thingy called 3 fish, and hes having pillar for a concert, and hes having three bands start for them, and we get to audition. i know pillars not heavy metal, but they are still awesome. i totally redid the song i was talkin bout and it is frikkin sick!!!!!! were gonna use that one and a heavier song. later.

ya...i thought Demon Hunter was kinda cheezy too...but the music rocks....and after a while you get used to the name and it sounds ok....

and i'm leaving on sunday for the whole summer...and my cd still wasn't in.....so i had to pull my order and get a refund on my deposit....but my girlfriend is in calgary for a couple of weeks, so she's gonna try to get Summer of Darkness for me.....but i won't see her again 'till Aug 22, so i'm SOL for a while...:(

I concur.

While I still find some of the tracks on <i>Summer of Darkness</i> pretty good....Is it true that the band started the whole thing as a joke to see how many people would buy it since it's a Christian rip off of Slipknot?

As someone who doesn't know anything about Slipknot....Are they quite similar?

And, of course, the name is so cheesy that it would make more sense as a joke.

the self-titled release was kind of similar....but the new cd is so different that you can't say they sound like slipknot anymore....dh does too much singing to sound like slipknot....but that's ok, cause it sounds good...

Demon Hunter is going back into the studio this spring to record a 3rd album....befor summer of darkness they said they didn't know when they'd be on tour again or put out a new album...but they have already started writing...it should be in stores late 2005....and i still can't get the new album...i'm getting a bit angry....

I love demon hunter. The metal stuff with all the screamin is awesome but the guys have great voices when they sing which is another good aspect of their band.

summer of darkness is the greatest cd i own i dont have a song on that cd i wont listen too. this is the style my band plays. the latest and the last beauty through the eyes of a predator summer of darkness less than nothing our faces fall apart my heartstrings come undone the best. man. i love it all. and that was just 6 of 13 songs the cd rocks :brick: headbagers unite!

Guys, I found this review by a non-christian on amazon, and thought it was kinda funny..

"I myself am just getting into Demon Hunter, so i'm what you call a new-age fan so to speak. The first time I heard Demon Hunter was on the Resident Evil Apocalypse soundtrack, with their song "My Heartsrings Come Undone", and I absolutely fell in love with it!

Of all the songs on the ST, it was always the one on repeat. After hearing that song about a bajillion times, I realized I had to hear more. So, I purchased Summer of Darkness, expecting to be blown away even more.

God was I right or what? This cd absolutely blew me away. Track number 1, "Not Ready to Die", is one of my favorite songs of all time now! Completely melodic, sure. But, completely good as well. Some of the best lyrics i've ever heard come from a Christian Metal group.

There are other great songs on this album as well, such as the aforementioned "My Heartstrings Come Undone" and "Not Ready to Die", then others such as, "Coffin Builder", and another personal favorite of mine, "I Play Dead."

Sure, they're Christian based Metal, and quite possibly a bit melodic...but so what? Atleast they're not P.O.D. whom actually suck as a Christian Metal/Rock group!

Demon Hunter are ****ed good, and that's my final verdict. Get this cd, for tracks 1 and 4! "

i accually like POD....i think they're awesome....but i listen to everything except pop, rap/hip hop, pop punk, soft rock and country....i'll listen to nearly anything else
