This is very very very tragic news off of cmcentral.com's missing artists list....
After its recording contract with Sparrow Records came to an end in 2002, Earthsuit has more or less disbanded. In mid-2003, frontman Paul Meany confirmed on the band's website that Earthsuit as a band is officially over. Paul and Darren King have formed a production team called Math, and have been working with tobyMac on his next record, as well as his Re:Mix Momentum album. Word has it that the duo are also writing and performing together under the "Math" moniker. Adam LaClave has formed a new band called Macrosick, which Meany and King may also play for. Guitarist Dave Rumsey has joined Jason Morant's band. Until mid-2003, Earthsuit had talked about working with Jacquire King on a potential second record, but that project appears to have been shelved indefinitely.
I can't find where Paul said on the website that earthsuit is over. I can't wait to listen to the "Math" songs.... Macrosick has by now finished their EP, which I can't wait to listen to, either. That's cool that Dave Rumsy has joined Jason Morant's band.
The thing that gets me is this. "Earthsuit talked about working with Jacquire King on a potential second record." I thought that they already recorded the record? Weren't they going to release that in April? Why would they say April if they hadn't even recorded it?!
Anyways, that's very very bad. Earthsuit was the most unique band ever in CCM. And they didn't make it.

They were certainly unique, lol. Not really my style but unique nonetheless.
I... didn't think they were all that unique...

Sweet!
Boy, it's a good thing I saw them at Rock The Universe a couple years ago then...
Aww. That stinks so freakin bad. They were awesome. I had anticipated the new album since beginning of 2002. They had the best live performance...

Say it ain't so, Jon, say it ain't so. This is horrible. They could have been big. They coulda been a contender. And now it's over.

Yeah man, they were insanely cool.
It was funny too cuz Adam was like dancing like a robot on like all the songs. Then on do you enjoy the distortion, they put an effect on his voice for the second verse that made it well, distorted.
They were one of the most unique shows I've seen, but very cool at the same time.

I'm glad to see there are some ES/Math/macrosick/Jason Morant fans out there
all these guys are local (New Orleans) so it's hard to tell how they are being recieved across the country...
Macrosick is putting on a showcase in New Orleans on Feb 11th and (fun fact) Jason Morant will be singing backup......
for fans of Paul you should definitely pick up Elevator Music (http://www.victoryfellowship.net/products.htm)
this is Paul leading worship at his home church and is a bit of a precurser to what MATH has in store for us...i saw MATH open for Delerious a month or so ago and it was amazing......anyway.....
enjoy

And I was just meaning to follow up on Earthsuit. I grant that I've only listened to their Kalidoscope Superior album a dozen times in the three years that I've owned it, but it has a very interesting sound.
Oh well-- I guess that I won't have to follow up.

paul meany is doing worship at his church, but earthsuit made a farewell album called "the rise of the modern simulation" which is VERY good. "elevator music" is a worship CD made at victory fellowship church, where paul leads worship, which is also a very good CD. you can purchase his new CD at www.mathmusic.com, math's website....

Paul's main man Adam, of the previous band "Earthsuit", has moved on to other things as well. He still attends Victory Fellowship Church, and is developing a new band of his own--- "Mac" is the name that I've heard. While we're on the topic... I saw Math ( Paul's band ) play at a Delirious? concert in New Orleans this December. I have to say that I was completely impressed and loved the "digitized" sound... along with Paul's trademark keyboarding with his superb vocals. So from what I've seen, Earthsuit has split... and become two awesome bands. Not to mention that the new Victory Worship CD "Elevator Music", that my Aunt (Co-pastor of Victory Fellowship) gave us for Christmas is probably the best worship CD I've ever heard.

Sadly, it seems that all my favorite bands have broken up  Earthsuit, Calibretto 13 and the Paul Colman Trio. What is this world coming to?

check out paul's new band, mute math, at mutemath.com.
they have an ep out, called reset, that you can hear there.
definitely some earthsuit-y undertones on some of the songs, tho they're a totally different band...
anyway, check 'em out.

I actually just missed MuteMath in concert :-/ However, from what I have heard, they don't quite have what Earthsuit had.

Definitely not. The lyrics are different, and the music is.....different. Hah, I meant for that to sound intelligent, but obviously missed the mark on that one. The lack of any rap (a la "One Time," of course) is a big change in things, also.
I think Macrosick is more "earthsuit-ish" than MuteMath, merely because they are more quirky than Mute Math (well, Macrosick is quirky, Mute Math is not at all). Still no rap, though.

So I had to go to a Christian book store today (not for me, of course). While I was stuck there, I took a look at the music section of the store and what do I see? About 20 copies of the Reset EP. So, I shelled out the 8 bucks and bought one. Not too bad. Rather catchy, actually, but still not Earthsuit. Then I thought about it and realized, neither of these bands are going to be Earthsuit, so why wish for them to be. I enjoyed the EP much more after I realized that.
Next up, my quest for the Macrosick EP.

avalanche, you're right on about either of them not being earthsuit. it's time to move on to bigger and better things. MM has some amazing things coming from them. They're aiming for a full length release to be June 20th which is the same date Kaleidoscope Superior was released.
Macrosick is pretty stellar too, MUCH better live
I also have to say that about MM too. you HAVE to see them live and reassess your opinion of them. there's soooooooo much programming going on and kool synth sounds, paul on keytar and rhodes and running across the stage to get to effects boxes, great show too
for macrosick i believe the demo can be bought at
store.mixonic.com/macrosick
i hope that's not spamming :-/
