how to tune it physically or what notes?
You should able to find a hammer at a music store somewhere or I'm positive that you could order one online.

Did you find another Hammer? You might find one at Lark in the Morning's site (www.larkinam.com)

..sorry I never got back to you...if you still need it, you tune with a little wrenchish-type of thing....I don't know for sure what notes it tunes to, but I can find out if you still don't know, though it sounds like you did...

This link should take care of any tuning or string guage issues you'd have under any form of the hammered dulcimer...
Also, I hope you were planning on purchasing 2 hammers, cause one usually won't cut it...lol
Hope I've been able to help...
Be God's,
Nathan
