I think it's neat how, well for me at least, the lyrics to secular songs can be christian and vice versa..
for instance, when you hear bryan adams crooning," wherever you are, I will be right here waiting for you"
God could be saying that to us..a rock, a shelter in our lives..and when you hear those pop singers singing, "I want you.."
YES! I want Jesus bad babe!! haha=) not only do I want Him, I NEEd Him desperately..see what I mean?
yeah anyways, it's interesting how people with different beliefs can have different takes on the same thing.

I totally agree. This is why I think Christians shouldn't be so quick to criticize all secular music. I can't tell you how often I've listend to a song by some secular artist, and totally saw something about God in it. I guess I just view music very different now that I'm a Christian :D

i see what u mean....but those mushy b/f-g/f songs by popstars like Britney Spears and others can't really be a example for us to follow in our relationship with the Lord. "Oops! I did it again" wouldn't fit....lol...but i do get ur point.
One thing though...saying "i want Jesus bad" seems kinda irreverent....but maybe i misunderstand u..

I meant it as rather a sad analogy
because when the secular singers are singing it, they are pining and wanting this person for what it seems many times like physical longing..but anyways, those secular singers make it sound like it's their most desperate need..
I was saying how I do pine and long for Jesus BADLY..as in very strongly, er desperately..is my meaning getting across online? um yeah..and He really is my most desperate need..
and the "babe" part, I was mocking the "britany spears & co." a bit I must admit..:p
I'd agree with Crystal. Have any of you heard Audio Adrenaline do "Let My Love Open the Door"? It's originally by Pete Townsend of the Who. Or "Free Ride"? Edgar Winter.
