In the area that i live in, there are not too many Delirious fans out here. I running into Delirious fans and just sit and chat about them because i think that they are the best band ever. So let me know why Delirious is your favorite or one of your favorite bands of all time.
I enjoy Delirious because...
1. The lyrics that they sing are powerful words that have changed my life. Martin Smith is one of the greatest songwriters of our time.
2. Their music is different from anything out there. The only band close to their style is RADIOHEAD. But RADIOHEAD don't have the lryics that Delirious has.
3. Finally because they are one of the few bands out there that have changed a entire genre of Christian Music. Praise and Worship was changed dramatically when Delirious came out with their Cutting Edge albums.

I still cannot see where any of the Radiohead references come from...
But yes, the lyrics are at times amongst the most inspired writings I've ever seen, at times beautiful in their simplicity, at others wonderous in their depth of thought.
Their musical style is awesome (although someone shoot the bagpiper! ;)), amongst my favourites, both Christian and secular artists included.
Their music brings me closer to God, and that's really the most important thing I can thank them for. :)

I like how thier music is cool and great to listen to, but uses that to point to God instead of themselves. Glo is one of those CDs I can listen to when I'm totally stressed and everything somehow doesn't seem so bad anymore. Does that make sense? :(
Anyhow, just my 2 cents worth

b) their lyrics are entirely awesome and powerful and make me feel like I want to explode
c) their music is mega-great
d) we have a lot in common, passion wise: Jesus, music, and sharing both.

well, what can I say? delirious is great because of their fantastic words, music style(fits great to me, and when i´m on praying mood), his absolutely BEATIFUL voise. i think the best with deliriou5? is that wird style, and those interesting combinations. i like it, it reminds me of many other artists, but delirious´ words are unicue! really, they are!!!
blessings to you all

I l;ike them because there ministry is not for money it is for leading souls to CHRIST!
I can't think of any songs they play in Drop D LOL
But YES! The D:Boys ROCK!
I say it's all about Stu G.'s distortion! How the heck does he do that? And Jon's heavy bass is tight too! Ooh! And all the crazy effects on Mezzamorphis! And, and, and... :D

he's a drummer.. you know how they are :kspin: :kgrin: :klol: anyway.... yeah.. gravity rocks! :D and what about jesus' blood and all they're other awesome songs! delirious rocks!!!
Gravity is my least favourite song by them, and yet i still love it!
i've liked delirious for about 2 years now, and i must say that i love the style of music they play. Stu's guitar, Martin's voice and lyrics, and everyone else in the band, they just make it sound so big an full at times, and yet simple and beautiful at others.
i love the Deeper cd's.
and My Glorious isn't in Drop D. i use a capo on two. i doubt that's how they do it. i believe they just use power chords. i'll let ya know after June 25, cuz i'm GOIN TO THEIR CONCERT!!
hope to see y'all there.
Um... if you'll let me say something childish... Third Day sucks.
:keek:
Okay, nevermind that. Third Day is good, but I think they're a little overated. And I prefer the D5? boys anyday.

just for clarification, my glorious is played in standard tuning. they just use heavier distortion and play power chords with it. rock on. delirious is awesome.

Yah, that was childish, Gus. :D But I don't care cos I don't listen to them anyhow. :D
One of my favs is Find Me in the River. I like how easy it is to sing and everything... Oh, yah, and Everything! I love that song too! :D

i like that even though so many of delirious' songs are played in churches, they have a ton of songs that are just as good, but just wouldn't really fit in a praise and worship setting. songs like "when all around has fallen", "heaven", and "all i want is you".
my only gripe is that they dress weird in concert. but that's pretty minor.

delirious songs? played in church... lucky!! my church never plays delirious.. cept for I Could Sing Of Your Love Forever.... but i definitly agree that they have a lot of great songs that don't really fit in praise and worship... haha! i'd be happy if i got to see them in concert... why can't they come to southern louisiana??? oh well... i'm sure i'll get my chance some day! :kgrin:

Doesn't everyone's church sing 'I could sing of your love forever'? Even my church does, and it's a vinyard church and, except for that song, everything they paly is vinyard music. Which is okay, I guess. :)

the regular worship team at my church does "i could sing of your love forever", "did you feel the mountains tremble", "find me in the river", and maybe "lord you have my heart." the youth worship team does those four, and also "Jesus' Blood," and possibly "the happy song."

well, it's in pennsylvania, so you'll have quite a trip ahead of you:) . actually, it's the second generation youth worship band. they learned it from the original band (which i was a part of) and we did it much better. :kgrin: .
j/k, they're pretty rockin

hehehe.... well.. i guess i can't really go to pennsylvania... but that's really cool.. i want our praise band to do that song :D
EDIT: we're kinda getting off topic here.... not like that's really a problem.. i doubt the mods care :klol:
It's funny, I like different periods of D5? music for different reasons. Cutting Edge stuff is awesome cuz you can play it at like any church. Live & In The Can is so tight! Like THE essential Christian live album. King of Fools and Mezzamorphis appeal to my moody side cuz of the lyrics and the generally darker sound. Mezzamorphis and Glo are like my faves stylistically cuz I love that electronic sound with the keys and all. And of course Glo is like a landmark worship album.
Audio Lessonover? Dunno, haven't heard it, can't be that bad  ;)

DELIRIOUS ROCKS! I've been to two of their concerts (the last one I was at I was so close i could have jumped on stage!) And they've both been grand! Not only are theygood at their music, they sing their guts out on stage. It's such a dynamic performance! If you haven't ever been to a concert, go. If you have been, go.
Also, one of my friends was lead to Christ through their music.

Delirious are my fave band, ive seen them like 7 times now, and im goint to see them again in the summer. In church we dont sing much of their stuff :( . sometimes we sing "i could sing of your love" im gonna ask them to play some more....
y do i like them?
well, there music is awesomely powerfull, and written from the heart. There songs are very different, from "what a friend ive found" that i can play and just worship to, all the way to "promise" and stuff that i can jump around mental either with a guitar, or at a concert... moshing.. mmm. lol, although i got a lot of bruises last time i went to see them and was moshing. THere music is nice to play, some songs are really simple so u can play them but completely concentrate on god, others have fiddly ebows and solos that i can play and copncentrate on the guitar. They arnt too much of a big band so u can meet them and talk to them etc, (although seeing as they are getting so many more fans its harder to do). I just love them...

hm.. i remember he wore some snake-skin pants.. oh man.. that guy knows how to jam :)
anyways.. everything about the d:boys just rock.
1. How they DRESS~~
2. Their music style> Rock.. yet.. not rock? :D it fits me PERFECTLY.. for any mood.. but especially when praying, i think history maker works for me best.
3. Awesome solos (STU IS THEEE MAN)
3a. Stu's guitar playing makes me wanna be a better guitar player
3b. Stu's guitar style is soooo very interesting
3c. Stu's solos are like none other
3d. Stu's effects ROOOOOCK my world :)
4. Tim always makes me wanna try to learn piano more.
4a. Tim's intro to 'Take me Away' was the first i've heard in a more rock song, reminds me that piano IS very important
5. Stewart's sweet beats/high-hat stuff in 'History Maker' is what got me to started on drums.
5a. Stewart's beginning in 'My Glorious' was what got me into the whole 'Start with the drums' thing.
6. Martin's voice just rocks my world
6a. Martin inspires to keep singing
6b. Martin's AMAZING song-writing skills
7. Their longing passion to bring people closer to Jesus Christ.
8. How their songs touch my heart
9. How their songs are so musically good.. and yet i'm focusing on the words more than their music, it's really amazing :)

haha.. yeah..... no.. he keeps his bass at a sane height.... the funny thing is in their one song he always jumps at this one part and it always throws his wireless across the stage so he's gotta go pick it up and plug it back in before he can keep playing :p
