Hiyas...
I saw the 'favourite worship songs' thread down there, and i was so inspired by a lot of those suggestions...yup, I love worship! something we can do 24/7...! :D

Anyway...i was just wondering whether you guys could suggest any good worship medleys?

My mind always goes blank whenever i try to find two songs that go nicely together...someone in the other thread mentioned 'In the Secret' and 'We want to see JEsus lifted high' which works REALLY well! heh, i love just switching between the two! But does anyone have any other suggestions?

Thanks guys!

take care

I've found that "Humble Thyself" and "Awesome God" can work together VERY well. I also think that "Open the Eyes of My Heart" and "I Could Sing of Your Love Forever" could be sweet together, but I've never quite got it to work right. Let me know if you do. :)

One medly we did last year was "Salvation Belongs to Our God" into "Agnus Dei." It sounded REALLY good. But you have to get it right, other wise (as you most likely already know), it sounds really bad. The way we did it was, after Salvation Belongs to Out God, we had the guys start singing Agnus Dei and the girls came in on the second line. The firs line of Agnus Dei overlapped with the last line of the other song...kind like

Be to our God, forever and ever. Amen.
Hallelujah.... (and into Agnus Dei)

For anyone who needs it: we did it in the key of G, so Agnus Dei starts on a B (the major 3rd).

Anyhow, that seemed like a cool medly, and it worked out pretty well, so there's my input :).

I've done He is Lord together with We Exalt Thee. They're kinda old school, but I like that stuff.

What works really well for myself is putting "Heart of Worship" with "I Could Sing Of Your Love."

If you overlap the chorus of "Heart of Worship" (assuming you changed it to the key of "I.C.S.O.Y.L."), play the verse chords of "I.C.S.O.Y.L." while singing the chorus of "Heart of Worship" and then going into the verse of "I.C.S.O.Y.L.", it's really pretty and nice. (I hope that wasn't confusing).

Also, I find that going from "Open the Eyes" to "In the Secret" is a good transition. Go from the last line of "Open the Eyes" ("I want to see You") into the chorus of "In the Secret" is cool. For example, it'd look like this:

"I want to see You ... I want to see You ... I want to .... I want to know you ...." and so on and so forth.

Hope that helps and maybe inspires some cool melodies! :)

i have a great mp3 of a medly of "i could sing of your love forever." "the banner song," and "love song for a savior".... if you want it, message me on icq # 114148955... i'm on late at night usually... you can do also do "sanctuary." but on the last verse (or repeating the first verse), use the chords for "light the fire," then go into it... it sounds really good to me... as a side note, we did that in our old praise team, but then our church caught on fire. Probably just a coincidence, but still... :(

jefffffffffffffff

well.... it didn't catch on fire while we were playing it or anything... it did when we were renovating the sanctuary....

Actually Jeff, I don't have ICQ, but if you can upload me the file through email, that'd be GREAT! My email is listed below. Thanks bro! :)

*cough* funny coincidence... I was doing worship for my Youth Group at a winter retreat and the first song we did was Light the Fire Again.... Later that night we had a fire in the garage when one of our youth kids (all city folk) threw hot ember/ash into the trash and put it in the garage...heh. I don't start off worship with Light the Fire Again (oh, one time I was playing it in my dorm room, and a few minutes later, my friends box of chevy's stuff she was cooking int he microwave caught on fire because of tin foil! lol). Bad stuff with that song or something...

"I exalt thee" and "Sanctuary" go together pretty well too... start with the verse of "I exalt thee" and then you can overlap the chorus of "I exalt thee" with "sanctuary" :) have fun!

I just a brainstorm...

do you know 'We Shall Stand'? old 1988 song...and 'I want to serve' (the purpose of God...in my generrrration)

I did it in reverse...so its
'Let me know yoru will and i will folllloooow You' (from I want to serve)
and then two big strums in A, (or whatever your fifth is) and 'We Shall STAND...'

Those two go REALLY well together...

Enjoy :)

Dood depending on your musical experience and your ability to transition and your ability to hear what a transition could sound like...I would look for songs in the same key...I have even switched from a song in E to a song in A...It is not that hard...you just have to have and ear for it and be able to discern what works and doesnt...

This might be like kinda a DUH! reply, but really you can make a medley quite easily out of songs that are in the same key. Just find two songs that are basically giving the same message, and then try to find a cool combining moment in the two songs.

Hope that helps a little...

I do "Your love, Oh Lord" by Third Day, and "Your Unfailing Love" by Hillsong! It works beautifully. I have several others I'll post later.
