I'm looking for an effect box to play my bass through, mostly with headphones, but I'd probably use it through my amp every now and then. I've been using a Zoom 506 for a while now, but I want to upgrade. I've been looking at the Korg PX3B and it looks like what I want. I just wanted to know if anyone had any opinions about it, or any good alternatives I should look into. I don't want to spend more than $200, but I will if I need to.

I say you knock off your budget a save up for a POD pro. They are amazing, our bass player is getting one and it looks and sound great.

The Korg is great, but it's not optimal for live performance. It's best suited for stand alone and PC recording. I'd save for the POD and get the footswitch with it

A POD is overkill for what I need. I just need something for practice. I'll probably look into the bp200, but I was hoping for something smaller so I could carry it around with me.

can it truly be??? jael saying something good about multi-effects ...

LINE 6 Is the ONLY digital that I enjoy, that's why they have made it so far. They can make 'tone-purists' 'digi-heads'. The are the only digital company to make anything digital good.

But dude, You should really consider a POD for your whole setup. it could drastically change your sound into something great!

If it is just for practice...

Look into the Raven Labs, Sadowsky, and Fodera headphone amps. They are only headphine amps, but serve many needs. They can be used as a "More-Me" box in the studio, used for mixing CDs in when you're practicing, etc.

If you don't noramaly use effects, I would probably get one of these, even though it is more than the Korg. It would be something that you could use throughout your playing career.

If you are going for practice only, get the Korg. a loop sampler and a metrenome with diferent beats, although some are cheasy.\
Tuner and other useful stuff. It's great for traveling.
