Does anyone like any girl bands (or girl fronted) or know of any....here are some I like:

I think so too, bleach :) I like I like Gwen Stefani and I like Jewel (shut up, I can still beat the crap out of you) and Kittie is cool, as is Drain STH (think they changed their name though). A band that is fronted by a chick you have probably never heard of is Human Waste Project. They are no longer together and I think they just had one CD. I like them though. :) You outta check 'em out.

I find that girls are far better at the whole singer songwriter trip than being in a band, not personal opinion here, just past experience. I can't think of any legendary bands with women in them. Feel free to point out any glaring errors here.

Umm....Scottyboy....let's think back to how Women were treated in the "ancient days." (really not that far back)....But how much were women allowed to have their say so? I mean...c'mon...Tina Turner was gettin beat around by Ike all the time....

Gotta admit that all of my fave bands are mostly guys with maybe one gal. Caedmon's call, Sixpence, with a few others.
Superchic(k)'s ok, they've got a great message, but they're not my fave musically. But you don't have to hate us when we're in a band! I wanna be in a band soo badly, in case anybody needs a vocalist/guitarist/little bit of songwriting...

I love a lot a of bands with girl singers. No Doubt is awesome. Skunk Anansie has some cool songs. Human Waste Project was awesome (they toured with Coal Chamber back when Coal Chamber was good). Kittie has a lot of really good songs. Most importantly...Mazzy Star. Mazzy Star is the greatest female-fronted band EVER!

I'm down with girl singers, but I don't really listen to a whole lot of bands fronted by girls. I like Sheryl Crow, she has some definite attitude. And I'm with Travis here, Jewel is pretty cool as far as female singers go. I really enjoy female gospel singers, but that doesn't belong here, now does it?

The mommas and the poppas! :rolleyes: well anywayskies most girl "rock" bands seem like they go too far out to be rockish and have retarded songs and even less mentally inefficiant riffs..but plumb and no doubt..i like them..o and Hole..I used to like them when I was 8 or so..but now I dun listen to them as much. FOR the most part..I think the songwriting I like is usually guys. *shrug*

yeah... check out liveonrelease... they aren't all that great, but the "I'm afraid of brittney spears" song is cool... =). Um... yeah, it's a group of four 16-17 year old girls from Canada(woot woot) they're actually pretty popular, like the music video for that song is on tv and stuff(well, it used to be)

WOOHOO!!! Timberwolf... you and I are gonna get along just fine :D Danca Hall Crashers are great! Save Ferris used to be excellent, but they have changed their style a lot. I still like them, just not as much as I enjoyed them back in the day.

Fleming and John is one of the best bands ever, and Fleming is the lead singer. Also, Amy Grant was one of the leading cross over artists back in the day. Sam Phillips is an excellent singer/songwriter as well. Generally speaking however, most of the better bands are fronted by males.

The best band with a Chick in it is mine! ( Jus' kiddin'... humility) Yeah the girl in my band was one of my best friends for 4 years and she was always writing music, so was I so we hooked up and are gonna be touring next year. Girls are awsome songwriters when it comes to real emotional songs. And guys can really write songs that can rip apart your emotions. That tag team is awsome.

I also like old Madonna stuff, old Heart stuff, the Bangles, No Doubt, a few Dixie Chicks songs, etc... I like female pop bands better than female rock bands. The whole attitude of rock is a guy thing, and most chicks just don't get it.
