Yea its gonna be a good album. many people seem to not like the new song that much. it is quite different but if you look at their 2 other albums. they are quite different from each other yet both were extremely innovative for their time. i dont think this album will fall short of their reputation as i believe it will be just as innovative as the rest and still be a very good album for new and current Norma Jean fans.

I'd say that this is going to be a really good CD. Although I am sort of picturing as a softer one, as with the most recent song released Shaunlou (on the delux Oh God), I do hope it is as good as the last one, or better.
Being the band supporter I am (I got 8 Norma Jean T-Shirts and their belt buckle), I will not say anything bad about it either way. lol

I loved their last one, it's one of my favourite heavy albums that I own. The new song sounds ok. I'll be buying the new album as soon as possible after it comes out.

The album is streaming on their myspace. I'm halfway into the first song and it's sounding pretty badass. They seem to be continuing the Botch sound of their last album.

I'm liking this new album so far. I absolutely hate The Aftermath (of course, nothing can be good when following up something like "Bless The Martyr Kiss The Child). Cory's vocals do not come close to Josh Scogin. Besides that, the music was nothing great, they basically followed the trend hardcore was taking. In this new album I almost hear a Thrice type influence in the vocals which is very nice, I'm glad he stopped trying to do his tough guy voice. I seriously think Norma Jean should have died when Josh Scogin left. No matter how good anything they put out is, it won't touch that first album. So that said, if someone else had put out this album, I would think much higher of it.

Not a chance. Bless the Martyr and Kiss the Child was a hardcore masterpiece. I prefer The Chariot to the Scogin-less Norma Jean. But I still enjoy Norma Jean and I'll likely get Redeemer when it comes out.

Fully agreed. The Chariot is what Norma Jean's follow up to BTMKTC should have sounded like. Josh Scogin is a genius.

"Memphis Will Be Laid To Waste" is an awesome song, by far better than anything else they've done, but I just like the more chaotic and technical sound on O God... I don't really prefer one vocalist to the other, I like Scogin a little bit more I guess, but basically I'm not fussed.

Well, that's pushing it a bit/lot, but I much prefer the sound of BtMaKtC compared to the overly polished O God, the Aftermath.

Maybe...but Everything Is Alive, Nothing Is Dead... is a step between Bless The Martyr and O God. It's more polished than BTM but it's not to the point of O God. It's also got a very similar "sloppy" sound to BTM. But anyways, there's no real point to debating that.

Meh, thats debateable (but please, lets not).
Its definately different. I like it alot, its the natural progression after O' God, atleast, thats the way Redeemer sounds to me.
I also like Cory singing on this album, it adds a nice effect to the songs he does actually sing on.
Also, I like the fact that he finally did some deep growls, his growls were amazing.

Wow! I got Redeemer for Christmas and it is AWESOME. I use to prefer Josh Scogin, but not anymore. Cory Brandan is awesome! Norma Jean is definitely one of the best hardcore bands.
