On Mat Kearney's AOL sessions I'm pretty sure Tyler was playing guitar for his band, but I could be wrong. Someone needs to confirm for me.

Yes, Tyler has been touring with him playing guitar on his headlining tour, which is about to come to an end. You can read about it in Mat Kearney's journal on his site:
"i got to spend a few days in nashville this week. i had just enough time to do some laundry and fit in a day-long rehearsal with the guys who will be joining me on the road this summer. will sayles who played on most of the new songs on my record, will be playing drums. his friend the immensely talented jeff irwin will be playing piano, stand up and the electric bass. singer songwriter and guitar god tyler burkum will also be joining us and making everything sound epic and beautiful. it is a really good feeling to know i will have such talented guys sharing the stage with me, and good friends to help tackle the road."
It's not uncommon for Tyler, just not well-publicized or anything. Tyler plays on and records a good amount of albums. You can see him on the acoustic set DVD that Pillar did and in the acoustic "Further from Myself" music video. They don't highlight him like they do the band members on camera, but you can see him. I imagine he's breaking away from Kearney for the last summer festival run with Audio A now.
P.S. Tyler has his own MySpace you can keep up with (with his own original music) at http://www.myspace.com/tylerburkum. His wife has one, too, but you can't see hers unless you're a friend.
