After seeing them live, I have come to the conclusion that the new vocalist is definitely a keeper. He was very energetic live and he a good voice.

I didn't even know their old singer left. But I'm glad they got a good new guy.

I haven't heard this new guy yet...but I know I really liked the old guy :-/. I hope their style doesn't change that much because of this new vocalist. It would kill me if they started becoming more metalcore and had crappy singing in the choruses of their songs like Killswitch and All That Remains (even though their voices are good, that kind of singing shouldn't be in metal).

i'm looking forward to the new album to hear what it sounds like, but I am not looking forward to the new singer. I'm tired of good bands quitting or getting new vocalists/members after a album or 2. It wrecks what that band really is.
I LOVED the old guy, and if there is singing in this new album, screw it. Unless it makes up for it, because this band doesn't seem like it should have any singing, kinda like As I Lay Dying (i mean like lead vocals). These guys are amazing, it would be nice to see them better the old album which was awesome.

We all know vocal melodies are evil.
If you'll notice, this thread was started in june of last year. They got a new vocalist after Thrill Seeker but they've been touring with their current vocalist for a while now and I've seen them 3 times with him and he's just as good as the Thrill Seeker vocalist. At the last show I was at, they played some new stuff and it didn't have any singing so you should be happy.

There's a new song from their upcoming album on Myspace, called "Truth of a Liar". Here's a link;

http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=1180963

The downside; there are a few lines of clean vocals.

The upside; there are only four lines of them. It's not like they're resorting to what Haste The Day does.

The new screaming/growling vocals are incredible and diverse, going from deeper growls to high-pitched shrieking. And the music doesn't sound any less brutal than their last album, though it might be an ounce less technical than their earlier material.

Overall, I like it quite a bit. The clean vocals don't really hurt it at all, and the more diverse screaming/growling style of their new vocalist adds a lot to the song.

Yep. It's a cool song. I want their new cd...

You just mentioned two of the bands who do that the best. It works right alot of the time, and you actually have something to sing along to, not "scream along" to. Plus all-screaming bands (ex AILD) almost always have songs that are barely distinguishable from each other.

The downside; there are a few lines of clean vocals. There are quite a few spoken lines in the four songs I have from the last album as well.

Weird that I find out about this right after I start listening to this band, the same thing happened with Haste the Day.

Maybe that's why I wasn't expecting them; I haven't heard that much from the last CD.

They are officially my favorite metal band. They're ridiculous.

So, new vocalist is s very good vocalist, but not better than the last, but he doesn't ruin the new album.

I really prefer him, but part of it might be that the recording quality of their new Cd is quite improved.
Same with why I enjoy Howard of KSE over Jesse.

The recording quality of the new album is too polished. Whats with every band polishing the records so that they sound fake and perfect? Like BTA.

I don't think Jake can sing the Thrill Seeker songs that well and I know Josh couldn't do something like the into the Eleventh Hour.

Part of me still prefers Josh, though. He just sounded really...cool when he screamed. Yeah.

Have you listened to the EP they have?

Called "Looks Fragile After All". I bought it at the show, and i guess it has their first 5 songs, and theyre really good ones. Anyway I don't know if they sell it anywhere else, but if you have the opportunity, buy it and it comes with a DVD.

I can't find it anywhere...I guess I'll just use zambooie.

The samples I heard sounded pretty cool.

(I'm guessing this is a more appropriate section that CD reviews for this....)

Just got back from seeing these guys live. They weren't that amazing, but pretty energetic considering how much the instrumental members have to concentrate on playing right. It was really stupid though, cause they only got to play 6 songs, and with the exception of The Human Abstract (maybe) ABR was the best band on the Take Action tour.

I bought Thrill Seeker cause it was the only thing I could possibly get signed...then I wasn't able to.
