I am looking for the speical edition Jars Of Clay Baby Taylor guitar for the album Much Afraid...I already own the one for the Zoo CD...so if you know of one let me know here or via email.
Also interested in purchasing a good used amp: Fender, Crate, etc. I want something with decent inputs and larger speaker, let me know if you have anything.

Can't really help you, but I'm just curious since this is the first I've heard of such a guitar. Got any pics or a site where there's pics of these special edition Taylors? I'm curious as to what they look like.

I'm not sure what the Much Afraid guitar looks like and I don't know of any pics of it on the net. I know they made at least 10 of them and were selling them through the Jars fan club.
The baby Taylor is a smaller (about 3/4 size) drednought acustic guitar...I have the "If I Left The Zoo" version of this guitar and I rarely play it because of what it is.
I was informed by the guy in charge of the fan club that the Zoo guitars were only ordered when they knew they had three people to buy them. Taylor filled all the ordres that were placed of course.
The only thing that differs from these collectors pieces and a regular baby Taylor is that the album titled is etched in around the opening in the guitar.
It is also rumored that the Much Afraid version has the album title and the Jars logo etched on it somewhere. These guitars have a deep, rich sound, better than I expected from a smaller guitar. They retail for about $275.00 (including shipping). I don't think they are available anymore though. If I find out more info I will post it here.

that doesn't seem to make any sence seeing that a normal baby taylor will usualy sell for over 300???

Actually....LIST price is somewhere around $499 I do believe, but retail price is in the $350-$375 neighborhood in reality. I'd love to know where you can buy a new Big Baby for $275, though, if you'd share... :D

The pricing I gave is correct, and I was not referring to the Taylor Big Baby...the special edition Jars guitars are Baby Taylor's and were made available to fan club members at a discounted price of $275.00 including shipping. The only condition from Taylor Guitars was that the Fan Club had to order them in sets of three, so when they had orders for 3 or more, they made the If I Left The Zoo guitars.
Originally 10 of the Much Afraid guitars were for sale through the fan club and I am not sure if there are any left.

Ahhh, I see now. Well, in the "open market", if you will (non-special priveleged folks), the Big Baby's and the Baby's both sell for the same price as they both list for the same as well. $275 is a great deal for a Baby...even if it weren't a special Jars edition....unless they used cheaper materials or something. Although, with Taylor, the Baby and Big Baby are about as cheap as their materials get...and that's not too cheap. But alas, if it were a Big Baby then I'd want one, but I have no use for a Baby Taylor...too small and not a big enough sound.

Yup...I only bought the baby because it's a great collectors piece for us Jars Of Clay fans. I am a huge fan of thiers and have lots of memorbilia, CD's, etc. I haven't played a big baby yet, but I was surprised at the sound you do get from the baby, it was really good considering the size of the guitar.
OHHHHH, at eBay I found a Jennifer Knapp Big Baby!!! It was over $300 and the reserve was still nowhere in sight....-Adam
