Does anyone beside me and GzusPhreek2k like skillet? Has anyone even heard of them? Amy, if you win the contest, I think you should get the skillet worship album. I'm buying a plus one cd, so you should give these guys at least chance.
http://www.gospelsite.net/previews/ardentworship1.htm - this is a pre-release review, but it's still the most detailed review I can find. You can also go to amzon.com to read what people think of them, but they don't have the worship album. There are review of their last 3 albums at about.com, but the reviewer on that site is always biased toward the music he likes. He always gives skillet a poor review and complain about their sound mix. I don't understand the standard for his reviews.
They totally rock, but another reason why I love this band so much is that they do soft songs that other rock bands can only look up with awe and envy. And the coolest thing is that you get to love their music the more you listen to it. I was introduced to them with their second album, and I though it was a total waste of money until months later I realized that it was the cd that I listenned to most often. In the worship version of the song "safe with you", there is a wacky guitar part at the end that I first thought was absolutely horrible, but as you give it more listen you get to love every second of it. I know it's totally up to you what cd you will get, but you got nothing to lose by getting their worship album.
